i.e. keyhole surgery for gallbladder removal

Only if you really really need it eg appendix, fixing broken bone etc.
Not an elective operation.

they would normally only do emergancy operations that NEED doing NOW for medical reasons.

Otherwise wait until baby is born

For that they tend to wait til after the pregnancy.
