Feelings for Second Baby

I have just found out I am pregnant with my second baby, literally this morning! Its definitely what my husband and I wanted but now I have been hit with panic about what my feelings for this baby will be. I find it hard to imagine that I am going to feel the depth of feeling for this one that I do for my daughter... If anyone could tell me what their experiences have been I would really appreciate it.

21 months between DS and DD (about the same no?) I can remember feeling exactly the same in the early days but the panic fades and you fall in love.

I wondered how I would share the love I had for DS but the cliche is true - your love grows and there will be plenty to go round. You fall in love with the second just as you did the first.

My relationship is different with both because they are different individuals - I have a DS and a DD so I guess that would also have something to do with things. DS is very independent and DD clings. Worked out ok really.

In terms of tips - I found I was a very different mother the second time round - more relaxed so the rule book got thrown out of the window (we ended up co sleeping with DD because I would have paid money to sleep through the night - DS had only just started sleeping through and between his first 12 months on the planet and pregnancy it felt like I hadn't slept in years). It worked for us though I'm not sure what the latest thinking is around co sleeping.

Also, don't spend loads on a twin/tandem effort - we used ours on a total of 7 occasions because DS was walking by the time DD arrived and refused to get in the bloody thing (though he would for our Child Minder who has since inherited the contraption). Maybe he was just making a point.

Another tip - if you have a DS this time don't try to recycle old clothing. In a ruch once I put an old coat of DS's on DD. I got told off by an old lady on the bus. Enough said.
