Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed that their vision has deteriorated(sp) since being pregnant. Im 27 weeks now and for the past few weeks I've noticed that my long distance vision is worse. My eyes feel quite tired/dry towards the end of the day and I have to blink more to clear my vision, especially my left eye.

I've also noticed more of those clear floaters you get when you look at bright lights.

Ive read that your eyes can be affected by pregnancy but just wondering if anyone else has had any experience of this?

I've got an opticians appointment this Saturday just to get them checked out and put my mind at rest a little. Its just more annoying than anything!

I've had a bit of blurriness. Someone told me you get extra fluid in the eyeballs during pregnancy which can cause this...nice!

You need to be careful because it can be related to Pre-Eclampsia. Talk to your midwife if you're worried.

I've noticed my vision has got worse - much more blurry, and I tend to notice it when I'm driving.

No floaters though.......

Just assumed it was pg related, and that it'll disappear soon.

My sight always gets worse when pregs but no blurred vision or floaters.

I went to the optician early on about 4 months because I was struggling with vision and they did the "look at the hot air balloon test" and said that they could tell my prescription had changed but then refused to do a full eye test when I mentioned that I was pregnant. They said that your prescription varied a lot when you're and so there was no point in doing an eye test till baba was here. So currently sat with the screen 6 inches from my face! Not had any floaters though so I'd go get it checked.

Thanks Ladies for the replies. I've seen my midwife about it and she checked over me and baby and both fine so am just assuming it is pregnancy related and vision will hopefull return to normal shortly after the birth.

I also notice it when driving and its worse on way home from work as if it gets worse as the day goes on.

I'll go to the opticians then on Sat and let them know what I've been experiencing to be on the safe side and put my mind at rest there aswell.

:)
