show?

37 weeks (today) and woke up with brown sticky discharge, put a pantyliner in and it carried on lightly throughout the night.
Only a very small amount but I'm wondering whether this is what's called a "bloody show"? I had assumed it would be more pinkish but this blood was brown which is old blood?

hi, with my ds and dd had gooey discharge with some blood streaked thru it. hoping it'll b the same this time so i know wot it is, but everyones different, could try google, babycentre places like that?

Thing is, I went to the hospital yesterday because I was experiencing contraction type pain and back pain so thought I might've gone into labour as they were very regular, they monitered me and concluded (from wee test) that I had a urine infection which they've given me antibiotics for... I'm wondering whether that could be causing an irritance and therefore this discharge or perhaps whether when they examined me vaginally and this caused it? Google has lots of conflicting advice re brown discharge...

hi, i had several uti's with our 1st, was even in there on due date cuz they hadnt listened to me when i told them i had one a few days earlier-it spread to my kidneys :-(, anyhow, i doubt its from ur uti. chances r its from the vaginal examinations. if it was a show, u could go into labour anytime between now and the next week i think. if it is a show theres no need to be in hospital waiting 4 labour 2 start. if ur unsure call maternity unit, im sure they've heard everything a thousand times and can eigther reassure u on the phone or after a quick check up

The midwife when they did they antenatal classes said that they will just say "oh" if you tell them you had a show... guessing I'll just let her know at my next appointment?

im not medically trained and every1 does say 2 b on the safe side, so based on that i'd say 2 ring and leave a msg 4 midwife or ring maternity unit. from wot u'v said tho if it was me i'd just wait it out. as long as babies moving its prob just from ur examination. sorry i couldnt really b of any help

baby is moving so I don't think theres anything to worry about, either from exam or show I'm guessing! Thanks for the replies :)
