Stokke Pram

Just wondered if anyone has a Stokke pram and what their thoughts are on them. They're very pricey, but I'm prepared to pay it if it's worth it. I really like the height of them, it really upsets me that so many prams are so low down and all baby gets to see is peoples legs...

I have one, I love it, although you will find that they have a kind of marmite effect on people! I get a lot of comments on how unusual it looks.

I love that it is high up and it is (in theory) supposed to be better for language development as, if you have it with the baby facing you, you can have lots of eye contact and talking. It is very manouverable and easy to assemble. I think you will have to check the size of your boot to see if it will fit as I think they are bigger than average.

I don't have one but I used to work for mothercare and in the pushchair department and I loved the pram. Well made, practical, lots of positive features for the baby and parent. Go for it.

Thanks Moulesfrites, that's what I've heard too about language development too, plus OH is very tall and think it would be a nightmare for him if we had one of the ones that are lower down. Good point on boot size though, mine's note vast, but we have been in two minds about whether to change my car...

I can so see why they'd have the marmite effect, but I like the way they look!...

yes, bugaboo etc seems very low in comparison and I can imagine getting a bad back, esp if tall.

My husband is very tall and I'm short, the chameleon has done a great job. The handles extend quite well but it is a huge benefit to have a high positioned seat. More interesting for the baby and great for eye contact.

Love mine. I've written a detailed review of it on the review section of the site (the Stokke is in the "pushchairs from birth" section) so I won't repeat it all here, but I would def buy this pram again. I would say if you're having an autumn/winter baby definitely get the sleeping bag and cosytoes (they call it a footmuff I think). The sleeping bag goes in the carrycot and the cosytoes is for the stroller seat. They are the warmest I've ever seen on a pram - your baby will be snug as a bug.

Thanks Lurcherlover - Baby's due early Jan and I have had my eye on the winter pack, it looks so snuggly, loving the mittens for mum too! I suffer from Raynalds Syndrome, so it's important I don't get my hands cold so the mittens would be perfect!

Ooo no, you don't need the winter pack - that's a rip-off. Just get the sleeping bag and footmuff. Honestly, the whole pack is a gimmick and dead expensive! You just need a really good pair of gloves! (I have Raynaud's too!) Same with the summer pack - it's a gimmick. The whole pram already has loads of ventilation built in. Trust me, stokke are very good at getting you to part with your cash but a lot of it is unnecessary

Hi Ladies... We bought the Stokke a few weeks ago! Went to a baby warehouse where they gave us an excellent demo and let us take it out and about on a demo. OH loved it and I think I was sold before we got there, so the whole experience validated it for me! So pleased with our decision, just want bambino here now so we can use it!! :)
