GTT tomorrow. What to eat today?

Probably a really stupid question but will what I eat today affect the results of a GTT tomorrow? Just wondering if I should avoid sugar/white bread/sweet fruit etc. So don't want to have to have this test repeated as I've heard it's pretty grim especially if your sickness is as bad as mine.

It won't affect it, assuming that the test requires 12 hour fasting what you ate the night before won't make a lick of difference.

If you can eat right up to the test, eat protein.

I just ate normally. Hope it hoes well it's not awful but it's not pleasant. I couldn't keep it down much to the horror of other people in the waiting room GrinBlush

The test isn't that bad - the pineapple flavoured juice you have to drink is quite nice, although the 'water' I had to wash it down with looked like urine and tasted like metal. The worst part was sitting on the uncomfortable seats in the waiting room for two hours while an assortment of strange and sometimes unsavoury characters wandered in and out for their blood tests. Take some food with you for afterwards though - you'll be starving!!

just eat exactly what you would normally, if you change your diet for the test then its a waste of time having it because its supposed to be representative of a normal reaction to the sugar, if you change what you eat your body may react to the test differently.
