I'm 30 weeks pg, about the right size apparently (am starting to feel HUGE though!) and I am sick of men staring at me!
Some seem to adopt a slight look of disgust, as if I shouldn't be out in public, as I am offending them. Others just have a REALLY good look at me - it's so bloody unnerving!
I could understand if I was swanning around in a cropped top with hot pants on Wink.......subjecting the viewing public to that would be taking it a step too far, maybe?????
AM I just being paranoid - or is anyone else getting cheesed off with this?

lol i really think it is different strokes for different folks imo. we all have our quirks.

Eeek pigeon that must have been scary!! People staring is one thing, saying weird stuff in the underground is a completely new ballgame!!

lovemysleep · 03/08/2011 14:32

Seems like this happens alot then!

Think I'm just not very comfortable being stared at. Can't believe that there are porn sites dedicated to pg women (shouldn't surprise me really), and as for some of your experiences - eeeewwwwwwwww!

Maybe some of it is fascination, as I admit that I used to sneak peeks at pg women, as I thought they looked so amazing - incredible what a human body can achieve......

Some of the looks I've had have made me think that they wish women would go into "confinement", and not be seen until they've popped - didn't this happen historially at some point?

It's weird isn't it, thinking about it I have to say I've also noticed Men having a good look sometimes. I thought that they were just bewildered. That's a bit yuk if it's motivated by something else!

petaluma · 03/08/2011 14:55

I spoke to a male friend about this not so long ago as I, too, noticed it (I am 31 weeks). He said that sometimes men are just thinking "she had sex" and are fascinated at the thought of something like that being so physically obvious!

Maybe that's more a judgement on him, than the whole of mankind!

I'm the same as OrangeGloss in that I too have a good old look at pregnant ladies thinking 'ah there's an ickle baby growing in there' and try to guess how far gone they are.

Now that I'm 21 weeks and showing I wonder if people look at me thinking is she pregnant or just fat?!!!

theonlyhb2 · 03/08/2011 21:06

yummymango, i have found the same with women! I am not sure if they do it cos they can't figure out if I'm pregnant or just fat. Last week some girl looked disgusted at me, i saw her staring at me from right up the road, when she got near i just had to laugh and said to OH "have you seen her?!" and still she stared. Lucky i wasn't having a pregnancy rage day. They have been nasty!
I assume the men look cos my boobs are bigger

LDNmummy · 03/08/2011 21:19

Petaluma that is another very good point. I know many guys who show a lot of pride in their wives/ partners being pregnant not only because of their impending arrival, but because it also seems to affirm their masculinity by being an obvious sign of their having had sex and his potency. Sadly my DH is one of these, but in a jokey non pervy way IYSWIM. I think it is like a whole package deal that confirms their virility.

So with that in mind, I wouldn't be surprised if a woman's pregnancy could be like a flashing neon sign above her at all times saying "I had sex to get like this" to men.

flutterbye1988 · 04/08/2011 10:04

i think its just a subconscious thing that most men want to took after you, I'm 38 weeks and huge, i have found that men are a lot more concerned about the bump then other women, i have men holding doors, giving up seats etc however women seem to just want smack me in the bump with their pointy handbags.

a week ago i actually had a woman elbow me in the bump in a restaurant and then tut at me ( i was stood back to a wall whilst she tried to push past me), it was only when her horrified husband told her off that she feigned some apology.

as long as they aren't being creepy just enjoy the attention.

yummymango · 04/08/2011 10:50

MakesCakesWhenStressed hmmm I never thought that it could be jealousy thing, good point.

wompoopigeon that made me laugh out loud, so funny (not at the time though I don't doubt). Quite scary in fact.

annekins · 04/08/2011 22:13

I know my own DH has been a lot more 'interested' shall we say lately since my boobs have ballooned and I have a definite baby belly. Which is quite nice really to be admired in my discomfort!

BUT I was in a meeting with some very serious and senior management type folks and noticed a couple of the men in that casting a glance my way which made me a little uncomfortable...

Conchita · 06/08/2011 17:35

am 17 wks and had an alarming number of car toots lately. must be the boobs!
