i haven't been told much so am in the dark regarding induction. What's important to know/be aware of so I can make decisions and ask the right questions?
Any info appreciated!! Thanks

Now I am starting to really wish this baby would start....today I don't want to be induced. How are you oinkyoink?

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 03/08/2011 08:51

Good luck today Oinky, if nothing has happened by now :)

I had baby Morgan last night naturally. I had some reflexology and contractions started straight away. He is gorgeous and weighed 7lbs 8oz!!! :)
Good luck dicey!!!

Congratulations!!!

(although i'm v jealous that reflexology worked for you. I had it a week ago & still nothing!)

dycey · 03/08/2011 15:25

O brilliant news - well I am about to be admitted to hospital after the gels were put in this morning - got some regular period like pains so it's under way.

Wish I had tried reflexology and acupuncture..... Damn.....

PrincessJenga · 03/08/2011 17:57

Good luck Dycey. FWIW I saw two friends last night who were recently induced. One managed the whole thing with just gas & air, the other said that if i needed to be induced I should insist on an epidural from the start. Seems it's different for everyone. I hope it's quick & calm for you Grin

dycey · 03/08/2011 20:58

Thank you PrincessJenga - main problem so far is psychological as am in Antenatal ward and DH not allowed to stay so facing the night along unless it gets so bad that I go up to labour ward. We will see!

PrincessJenga · 03/08/2011 21:38

Ah booooo! That's what worries me most tbh. We've got a homebirth planned so the thought if having to be induced then stay in hospital makes me very sad! You've got mn to keep you company though Grin & make sure you get DH to get you some trashy magazines before he leaves. Good luck x

dycey · 03/08/2011 22:44

Mn doing a sterling job of keeping me company. Thank god for my phone - didnt have last time.

Read lots of trashy mags now. Tens set up for use in night. Earplugs in. Paracetamol swallowed. Hoping for sleep. (and to not be here for 3 nights like last time).

PrincessJenga · 04/08/2011 14:27

Hey Dycey, I'm hoping we haven't heard from you this morning because you're all snuggled up with your newborn. I hope it's gone well Grin

dycey · 05/08/2011 04:44

You were right -well I was in labour and baby girl born 4/20 yesterday afternoon. Second app of gel was 12:00 and it then went so so fast thar I only had time for wonderful gas and air and she was almost born in the wheelchair on the way to labour suite! Thank you so much for yr interest.

Is true second babies can be mega mega fast!!!

PinkSchmoo · 05/08/2011 05:05

My induction was went in at 1 c dilated, gel and 6 hours later about 2 c, arm which was more painful than I anticipated but fine. 2 hours contractions then examined and was 3 c. Started to get BAD so started on g&a and asked for epidural. Could not get epi so yowled for an hour. Midwife examined again and I was ready to go. No more g&a, bit of drip as contractions apparently not quite strong enough. A bit under an hour and hello DS.

Hope it goes well!

PinkSchmoo · 05/08/2011 05:08

Btw DS is DC2.

Spontaneous labour for DD was much worse. Long and loads of intervention in the end.

PrincessJenga · 05/08/2011 06:26

Whoooooo!!!! Congratulations Dycey Grin
