Pregnancy Post-MC Graduates' London Meet-Up

So exciting to see so many people interested in our pregnancy post-MC grads London meet-up!

So far 21st Aug sounds like a potential winner (Blackkat - you HAVE to come!) Does that work for you all, Ladies?

Shall we say the afternoon, about 2pm?

Pink mentioned that her train comes into St Pancras. I can be quite flexible. All I suggest is that it is somewhere where we can relax and indulge in naughty cakes. Suggestions?

Time and date work for me - my train comes into Paddington, so somewhere central would work for me.

No ideas about where to go for cake indulgence though!

bigmacandhappymeal · 01/08/2011 12:37

Fantastic, thanks for sorting this Lara -date and time is good for me...

Highbury and Islington is one stop up from Kings X on the Victoria Line and there are a few nice cakeries about 7 mins waddle walk from the H&I tube (Ottomlenghi + a couple of others) or 15 mins from Angel (northern line). I can't think of any around Kings X (only pubs which is unhelpful)

PinkFondantFancy · 01/08/2011 12:45

Sooooo excited!! Will do a bit of cake-ery research!

PinkFondantFancy · 01/08/2011 12:46

Ps don't let the St pancras thing tie anyone down-anywhere central is fine by me!

DeterminedToGetDiffedDachs · 01/08/2011 12:49

I don't know what the cafe in Hyde Park is like for cakes, but if the weather was nice we could maybe meet in the park and have a picnic? Then any cravings could be catered for! Although I supposed seats would be a problem.

tiggersreturn · 01/08/2011 12:54

Depending what time I'm up for it too. Our au-pair starts that week and dh had suggested taking her on a top deck bus tour (normal routes) of London to show her the sites and give her a feeling for the place. I'm happy to drop out part way through tour and be collected again so dh, ds and au-pair can do the walking.

Hyde Park or Regents Park would be nice. If I can sit on the grass and still get up again then no one else has an excuse!

bigmacandhappymeal · 01/08/2011 13:04

Either park would be really nice - great suggestion. How about we all bring a cake of choice to share (by 2 I will have eaten my own arm if i havent had lunch)?

Would need some good directions about where to meet up though.

LaraandLittleBean · 01/08/2011 13:17

Hyde Park sounds good - apart from...

  1. How would we fix a meeting point? (kind of large an area)
  2. What if it rains?

Otherwise I am good with wherever - just want to meet you ladies!

Hyde park - near cafe/lake with big sign "PPMCG"
Regents Park - near inner circle cafe/rose garden with big sign as above.

Alternate venue for rainy day.

bigmacandhappymeal · 01/08/2011 13:19

Hmm good point Lara. Am going to mull on cake options

Wombat33 · 01/08/2011 13:20

I'll only be free on 21st from about 3pm or 3.30pm but I could come and join you then? Love the park idea but can I put a vote in for somewhere with seats?

stitchinline · 01/08/2011 13:35

Just saw note from lara on freak out room. I'd love to join you on a london meetup - the above choices sound great to me.

CollieandPup · 01/08/2011 18:40

ohhh it all sounds very exciting! I hope there is going to be cake in the northern meet up! (after starter and main Grin )

Can someone make me banofee pie and send me a piece?! Grin Grin

Velvetcu · 01/08/2011 20:01

hellooo I'm in too. My train can come into either Victoria or Charing Cross but I don't mind tubing it for a bit.

I want cake now!!!!

Blackkat · 09/08/2011 21:32

Hi ladies, just wondering if you had any more thoughts on your meet up? Selfishly just trying to sort my train tickets to head north and would like to book them so I can meet up if possible...no worries if there's no definite plan yet.

owlbooty · 10/08/2011 10:47

I'd LOVE to come to this but realistically tis unlikely I am going to be in any fit state - please can someone eat some cake on my behalf and hopefully I'll see you all at the next one :)

bigmacandhappymeal · 10/08/2011 19:04

ladies what about this:

www.patisserie-valerie.co.uk/cafe-victoria.aspx

Velvetcu · 10/08/2011 20:46

mac the cake menu looks amazing! i wouldnt be able to have just one though!

Are we meeting up then ladies as i too need to make plans

stitchinline · 11/08/2011 09:57

bigmac that cake looks yummy

So I'm not trying to take over but as someone who likes to know exactly what they are doing I think the plan at the moment is

Sunday 21 August
about 2pm
Location still to be confirmed but somewhere that has cake, seats and is close to transport?

Velvetcu · 11/08/2011 10:03

stitch I think we need someone to take over Grin

I'll be there wherever there is, I just don't want to be the only one!

bigmacandhappymeal · 11/08/2011 10:41

Come on then, let's have a show of hands. I'm in if everyone else is.

The place i suggested is a short stroll from Victoria and has cake, and seats :)

stitchinline · 11/08/2011 11:05

I'm in Grin location sounds good to me!

LaraandLittleBean · 11/08/2011 13:27

Oops Ladies... I have neglected this due to general miserable state last week and then carelessness. Please forgive me!

Patisserie Valerie in Victoria is right by my office and it's fab, albeit a little small. Should be quiet on a Sunday though!

I'm in for it!

OP posts:
bigmacandhappymeal · 11/08/2011 15:24

Brilliant - I think that's us sorted then (do you think it's too small for us Lara?)

Velvetcu · 15/08/2011 20:49

Ok ladies can we decide on a venue since it's this Sunday we're meeting Grin
