Hi,

I met with a lady at NCT coffee morning a few months back and haven't seen her since to ask but she had an extra large muslin with red stars on it which was fab for feeding her new baby. Am sure she said website was Ba ba baby but nothing is coming up on websearch.

Am now 31 weeks and want to get the last few bits and pieces in place.

Can anyone help?

Babies R Us? We got a pack of four which included some patterned ones. I'm sure they have stars on actually...

I've never understood muslins, what are they for and what do you do with them, feed them to your baby?

addictediam · 31/07/2011 15:30

i got a couple form asda, but they did shrink slightly in the wash, but still quite large?

muslis can mop up sick and dribble they can also help protect your modesty if your alittle bit unsure about feeding in public and just generally handy to have in the changing bag for cleaning shopping trollies, pushchairs etc (obviously you wouldnt clean a shopping trolly with one then put it on your baby's face to mop up sick! Grin)

I use mine for changing mats still too - and impromptu bibs. And drying swings/supermarket trolley seats if they've been rained on.

and also for wiping sore bums after using wetwipes so your not putting nappy on wet bum.

there are just so many uses!

BertieBotts · 31/07/2011 16:25

Haha, never thought of that one. I always let DS air-dry Grin

They don't have stars on but I got some lovely ones from Ikea. Packs of 3 with one plain, one stripy and one with animals on, and cheaper than in other shops. They also make good thin blankets in hot weather and are useful for wiping away your tears in those hormonal early days when you have a baby attached to you and can't reach any tissues.

i'm another ikea muslin fan too. great patterned ones

notsuchayummymummy · 31/07/2011 20:25

Thanks for this - just what I was looking for too. The Natural Baby Shower are UK stockists it turns out - with free p&p - just ordered mine :)

I found this thread while searching for large patterned muslin cloths. Prices seemed expensive to me, so I looked around and found these ones instead:
www.muslincloths.co.uk
They do 100x100cm and 120x120cm with different patterns.

Hope that helps anyone else who's searching :-)

sabbatica · 17/04/2012 17:55

Yep, sounds like the aden anais ones. They sell them on amazon as well. I have the stars ones and one with dinosaurs on and they're very good and have a multitude of uses from buggy cover to blanket to wiping up milk.

They are expensive, but mine have lasted one messy baby boy and still looking good (and feeling soft) for baby boy number two's impending arrival.

mungojerrie · 17/04/2012 18:59

Nearly £10 per muslin?!!! Seriously?! Shock

PickleSarnie · 17/04/2012 20:16

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that mungo! They're very pretty but all ours used to end up covered in sick on a very regular basis. We went through several a day. Although DS was a puker.

The large ones are good for swaddling in hot weather if we get any this summer
