Good underwired maternity bra on the high street?

Hi, can't be doing with the monoboob so am looking for an underwired bra that will give a nice shape. I'm usually a 32e. Havent been measured yet as still early days but my normal bras are becoming uncomfortable.

I've had a look online at the Sarah Jane and elle McPherson underwear. Would like to go to a shop to be measure and fitted in these makes then once I know my size I can buy online in future.

I just wore m&s maternity bras last time but thinking back they were bloody uncomfortable and not very attractive!!

I got a cheep £7 bra from peacocks today as Ive gone up 2 sizes already. Its a DD-F tshirt bra, thought I was about an E and its a great fit.

Sandy do you live near a Bravassimo store? For anything bigger than a D cup they are awesome. Often though you'll find when they measure you you'll go up cup size(s) and down in the back size.

Last pg I think I was told not to wear underwired but I have also been told it is fine as long as you are wearing the right size and have them checked often. I have J cup (!) pre pg so am not exactly keen to go into maternity bras any sooner than I have to as they are so darn uncomfortable and ugly.

I second bravissimo, great cutomer service and good bras for large knockers.

See I found underwire so uncomfortable from quite early. Boobs ached and ached when took bra off so took that as a sign they weren't great for pregnant me.

I agree most maternity bras are disgusting. Got a cheap sleeping one from marks and DH went weak from laughing at me in it so I shopped for something I did like.

Biscuitsandtea is right. I've always been a Bravissimo girl and they fitted me with Panache Maternity Superbras. They are attractive and fit great and are so comfy. £30 each I'm afraid though.

I have tried every single underwired nursing bra on the high street and Bravissimo, but nothing NOTHING beats the Anita underwired bra. I wore them in late pregnancy and breastfed for almost three years in them (planning to tandem with this one) and they are amazing. Softer underwired, so I wore at night even. Great fit for larger sizes (including small back sizes like me) and I'd order up a size.

These aren't on the high street, but available from figleaves and you could order several sizes and send back the rest.

I honestly think these helped me continue with breastfeeding when I hit a wobble as wearing these made me feel good, looked nice under clothes etc.

Not cheap at 30-35 quid but well worth it. Best maternity item I ever bought in fact

I agree with otchayaniye - ANITA underwired bras the best out there! Only problem i had with the feeding ones is that they didn't go up big enough! - very annoying!

Also really comfy at night were the breast feeding BRAVADO tops - really supportive of the boobs when sleeping.

Oh poo - only a H cup?

There's a bravissimo in Newcastle which Is close by (I'm in Durham). There's a John Lewis there too which sell the Emma jane ones. Think I might go to both for a fitting and see what they have. I've never tried any underwire maternity bra's yet. I've looked at the Anita ones. How do their sizes come up?

I'm just after maybe 2 nice bra & knicker sets to see me through a few months. When i was pregnant with ds I think my bra size changed 3 times.

Also, is it worth buying nursing bra's instead of maternity bra's so I can use them once dc is here? I didn't bf ds.

I thought Emma Jane ones were worse than useless. I cannot praise the Anita underwired nursing bras highly enough!

I also agree that the Bravado stretchy ones are wonderful for the first bit, while your milk is coming in (ouch!) and then while your boobs are settling down. It's amazing how much the size can change at that stage between the end of one feed and before the next, so the stretchiness is wonderful.
