getting very sad and (alittle bit) mad that I wont have another child

I have a dd age 7, its been a tough ride but I adore her and ,my dh and I have sorted ourselves out after along period of instability and I have been broody for about 18 months now. I can't have another child,for a number of reasons but I want one :-(

I think many women want another dc, it's part of that biological urge that we insanely have.

All I can advise is embrace the advantages of not having pre-schoolers and allow yourself to have the sadness. Personally I try and remember how hard it was with toddlers and it helps, a lot....

aww thanks, I also remind myself how difficult and exhausting toddlers are and it does help-for a while lol, I feel almost like Im grieving at the moment, we are moving house and clearing out the loft and I always saved the cot and swinging chair and the more expensive things for another baby and now we are getting rid of it all because 'its not going to happen'

It's okay to be sad about it, it is grieving.

I cried so much signing the consent form and in pre-theatre when having to be sterlised the dr nearly didn't do it!!!!

It is partly a strong biological/maternal urge I think RandomMess.

I am fortunate in that we have two beautiful dds, and they are now more of a "civilised" age i.e. not tiny toddlers/babies. However I always wanted 4 children.

For a lot of (sensible, practical and very good) reasons we can't/won't have any more and at times it is hard to put the broody thoughts out of my head.

I am 37 in january, I have been out of employment retraining for the last three years and only just started to work and get a decent income. My dh has a child from a previous relationship who we pay money for and he goes away for contact weekends every month, I get a little bit resentful that he has another child, especially when he says thing like " I dont want another child Ive already got one of each".....I havent!
Also even though Im in my mid thirties LOADS of my friends are having babies or have done in the last couple of years
