I have gained 6kgs and am 5 months pregnant, this seems a lot to me as I thought most of the weight gain is meant to be in the last trimester. But does this sound about right/ok?

I'd gained nearly 2 stone by that point in both my pregnancies, a third stone was added on at the end.

I started off very skinny though and lost it all afterwards.

This website gives you a good idea of a normal range: www.babycenter.com/pregnancy-weight-gain-estimator. You type in your pre-pregnancy weight, current weight and how many weeks pregnant you now are. But people seem to vary a lot both in when they put on weight and in how much...

I'd put on a stone by then in both pregnancies (that's about 6kg right?) and put on at least 1.5 stone more by the end. It all came off fine ... I wouldn't worry.

I have put on 3 kg...

Im 22 weeks (nearly 23) and have gained 20lbs.

ShowOfHands · 25/07/2011 10:06

If the general rule of thumb in a normal woman is 4lbs in the first trimester and 1lb a week in the 2nd trimester, a stone by 5 months is about spot on.

Thanks all - sounds like I shouldn't be too worried!

i've gained 6 kilos and I am 18-19 weeks. Apparently that is a bit ahead of schedule but i also "front loaded" in my first pregnancy and only ended up gaining about 12 kilos. I'm starting to watch what I eat though!

GemmaReeto · 25/07/2011 19:58

I've gained about a stone and Im 23 weeks - first pregnancy. Glad to hear thats about right!

notlettingthefearshow · 25/07/2011 23:25

Only gained a kilo (18 weeks) but overweight to start with, so apparently normal. Think 'normal' is a very broad term depending on many factors - so don't worry!

im 20 weeks, 1st pregnancy and have put on just over a stone, i was quite thin to start with (not sure if that makes a diff)
