Hi,

I've never been big on doing much exercise but since getting pregnant Im starting to feel guilty that im not doing as much as I should?

Is anyone else in the same situation? and Does anyone have any helpful advice on getting active?

Yes, I used to run, cycle and swim - but since getting pregnant I've done virtually nothing; and I feel really guilty about it.

Constant nausea for the first couple of months didn't go with exercise and then since then my boobs have been sooo sore. I've just signed up for a pilates for pregnancy class because I think having a session to go to at a fixed time each week will help.

I used to Kickbox so obviously had to give it up when found out I was pregnant. Have felt guilty all the way through as went from training 4 nights a week to nothing. Back on it as soon as I can after baby, which makes me feel better. As long as you keep reasonably active and eat well. There's plenty of time to worry about exercise afterwards.

I used to exercise lots at gym, running or classes. Gave up core classes straight away as they weren't recommended. Continued to spin and do Zumba til about 6 months. This was whilst I had sickness and nausea. Sometimes I was too ill to do stuff and going to work was a mission and other times I went to the gym and plodded along as a distraction to the sickness and it kind of worked.
Basically I've not stopped having morning sickness and then have got run down with tonsilitas and a throat infection so have had to stop beating myself up about not exercising. I've got 4 wks left and have been on cross trainer recently v slowly which is nice. However, I've been so busy sorting and decorating baby room and doing all baby shopping that I've been too exhausted to get to the gym! Maybe I'll do a bit tomorrow!

I haven't done anything at all Blush i used to be fit, then go through phases of going to the gym, then nothing for 6 months, i am thin, so never really bothered with it (i know i should have done to keep healthy though)

I am 19 weeks and have done nothing at all... keep sayingi will start swimming, but still havent bought a costume, also i have bought a pilates dvd for pregnancy... but still havent done it!

I like the idea of a pregnancy pilates, I might get one for these last weeks as I'm having back/hip problems. When I did the exercise I loved it and felt great after. I particularly loved and miss Zumba it's brill but will have to wait a while til I do it again!

As I was doing stuff before, my body was used to exercise but I still had to make myself slow down. Don't start anything crazy now but pilates and swimming would be great. I haven't bought a swimming costume either as I was doing other stuff. However, I used my bikini and a vest top obver the top when I stayed at a spa hotel last week as without it I looked like a porn queen!!!!

I dont exercise. Never have in a planned way. Even Jim Foxx did not get me jogging

I take my dog out every day for 45-50 min walk :) It is my routine and I am hoping to continue as long as I can ( currently 29+3). I enjoy the fresh air , just need to have a sit down when I return for about 15 mins then back to usual bits and bobs :)
Am aiming to go swimming aswell but after the morning walks I feel rather exercised out lol. May start going in the evenings to spread it out.
I ve never been much of an exerciser having been lucky to keep in shape with daily dog walks, am interested to see how much effort I have to put in to get back to my pre pregnancy weight/shape!

I am walking the dog for a hour to an hour and a half a day. Bit of stretching every now and then. Love walking so at weekends try to do more but that's it. Definitely slowed down in first trimester, felt so weak.

Cheers for the replies, I've never been very active at all. So by exercise I mean the basics of actually moving around. :) Think I'll try and get myself out everyday for a walk rather then just sitting about.

Thanks for the inspiration :)
