help?? It's our first-due in oct and we're just on the mother care website looking at the sale items.... We're stuck on whether to get long or short sleeve suits? Also, short or full legs? Sorry if this is a really stupid question! X

I second the 'one more layer than you are wearing theory' as a good rule of thumb. So get a mixture of stuff, layering will be the key. The thing to remember is it takes a few months for your newborn to get any head control, so I found I only used things that I could lay my floppy baby on and pop his arms/legs in and do up down the front. No trying to support his neck though the neck of a top. So that's most sleepsuits with poppers down both legs and wrap round bodies (or Jedi suits as DP calls them) like this , but much cheaper in H&M. And cardis instead of jumpers. Remember that most of the first few months they will be on their back, so avoid jumper hoodies, just leaves an lump in the middle of their back.
But most of all, don't buy to much. I was given so much from people I'd never heard of, not all babies are sick/explode nappies every 5 min, you will discover what works for you all only when they arrive and the best clothes will come from your supermarket which will be open when you need them!

Thanks Scaredycat3000 and good tip about the hoodies! Hmmmm didn't think about that ;)

Also sorry OP for hijacking your thread!!!! Hope you found it useful too though Blush

I keep hearing about how people will buy you tons of outfits etc but to be honest I am not so sure about that - a lot of our friends and family are asking us what we specifically want and sort of not focusing on outfits and clothes as such, also I really do have a specific "taste" when it comes to baby clothes and have a feeling will be exchanging lots of outfits if gifted ;) I actually refused a few of friends' hand me downs because just really didn't like the style and colours etc (we are close so no one took it the wrong way - they know me by now and my aversion to certain styles ;)))))))
