am i in labour??????/

Im 40 + weeks (4 days overdue) and on friday just gone i had my first sweep and was told im 2cm dilated. the next day i lost my plug and last night and today i have been getting tightenings on my bump, it goes really hard one min then soft the next then starts up again, but it isnt painful. are these just braxton hicks??? xxxxx

Have you tried timing things? Is there a pattern?

In the beginning my contractions have felt like period pains, can you time them? Braxton hicks don't come at regular intervals

Braxton hicks can be regular for a short time..they often trail off and stop. If they are regular and keep going for a time, over an hour, then get yourself to the hosp if they get to 5-6 mins apart. Give it time..you WILL know when labour is really getting going!
