Think i should get checked out

My bump doesn't wriggle a lot but over the last 2 days she has been very quiet - I didn't ring anyone last night because she did move around 10pm but like yesterday, today she is very quiet and hasn't really moved much. I am thinking of ringing antenatal when DH gets in at 6pm - I can't do anything sooner as have no one too look after kids today. Do you think this is ok or am I being silly because she has moved today - just no where near as much as usual. Don't want to get told off by a stroppy mw.

Am 28+5 if that makes any difference.

No not silly at all! Could you take the kids with you to see the midwife or go along to your GP? xx

if you can have a glass of iced water / fizzy pop (for the sugar apparently - I had to have a crunchie and a glass of lemonade at my scan last week to get mine to move around!) and then lie down for for a bit - the iced combo / being still combo should make it move. Give it an hour or so and, if not, pop in.

No one will ever be cross for being cautious.

Definitely get it checked out. Who gives a fuck about the stroppy mw? I would go as soon as you can. I am sure it will all be fine!

BTW I went to antenatal at similar stage due to reduced movements. Midwives were fantastic and told me to always call up if I was concerned, especially if there is a difference in activity. If you get a stroppy MW, report her! No decent midwife will ever tell you you are being stupid, and if one of them does, they need to be pulled up on it. Hope all is ok and that they can give you some reassurance x

I had the same thing recently although I was only 23 weeks at the time, I phoned my midwife and she told me the same as others have said; eat something sugary and drink something cold, lie down (preferably on your left side if you can) for about an hour, if there still isn't any movement then phone your GP and ask them to check the heartbeat. That's what I did in the end and I'm so glad I did as the relief was indescribable. I apologised to my GP for wasting her time but she told me that it wasn't a waste of her time if it reassured me and stopped me worrying. Please check it out.

Yes, definitely get it checked. Why not have a chat to the mws now, even if you can't easily go in now you can still talk to them and see what they say.

It's likely to be absolutely fine- I had exactly the same concern a couple of months ago and DD is now a month old, she obviously just had a couple of sleepy days. But it's not worth taking a chance.

Please please get checked I posted something similar a couple of weekends ago when it was really hot as baby had a couple of quiet days I didn't go as didn't want to be a bother but saw my mw the following thur and she have me a bg for not going in as they are more than happy to hook you up to the monitor for 20 mins. It's your baby and its safety that's important and thats what they are there for! If you ate concerned at all it really is worth getting checked.

Thanks all - have been to assessment unit and when I got put on the monitor she was wriggling like a worm and they couldn't get a proper trace for ages - was very . At least baby is fine - really strange how she suddenly woke up after me prodding her, eating 5 ice poles and chocolate milkshake earlier - delayed reaction!

When I was on hospital the baby always did that when put on the monitors, glad all is ok
