My bump is quickly expanding, and I am now down to last coat that will actually button up on me!!! I cannot possible get through the winter without something warm to protect me from the elements! Are there any such things as maternity winter coats? Or do I just buy a larger size 'normal' one?
Thanks
K

larger size I think. Don't ever remember seeing maternity coats and if they do do them they probably cost a small fortune!!

i ended up buying a larger size normal one - a thick fleece jacket as ive never heard of maternity winter coats

Nemo1977 · 25/11/2005 13:44

fleece jackets are fab..will do up over bump as the material is stretchy.

Enid · 25/11/2005 14:06

hennes have maternity coats and jackets including a nice looking padded one

My winter coat was from Gap and slightly too big for me and I wore it throughout the winter until dd born in Jan (got a bit tight but still zipped) Def try a bigger size (Ebay?)

I got a big duffle coat from Marks, such that you could fold up the sleeves to desired length and it felt soooo lovely when I got it as it was winter and I had been making do with a coat that didn't do up. My mum forced me to get it and she was right. It is quite hideous though - grey with black fleece lining and I have since seen it on distinctly un-trendy people.

was just thinking about this when went out for my dinner at work because it's freezing up here. Am going to look for one tomorrow, although do remember seeing one in Junior Magazine for about £650.00 - £700.00. Somehow I don't think so.....

Thanks all.
Enid don't know what part of the country you're in, but on the offchance you're in London, which Hennes do you use?

sorry I go to Bristol Hennes

but I used to go to the Oxford St one I think when in London

marilla · 25/11/2005 16:09

Also the Big & Beautiful range at H&M have got warm looking coats

runtus · 25/11/2005 16:15

I was thinking the same thing so I bought one of the H&M long maternity cardies (really warm with buttons, belt and hood) and I have been wearing that with one of my normal coats over the top - but not done up. Looks pretty good and shows that you are def pr and not just fat!!

runtus · 25/11/2005 16:16

Forgot to say, although it is a mat cardie it looks just as good without a bump so I plan to wear it afterwards too.

£30

Invest in some good thermals and make do with your usual, worked for me all last winter.
