I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant and due on December 5th. I was just wondering of the hospital will be in the Christmas spirit then? I love Christmas and was just wondering from anyone elses past experience. I know it will be the last thing on my mind during labour but it still would be nice,

My sister gave birth on new years eve and there was no sign of any decorations etc. I can't be sure but I think it is unlikely unless it is on the childrens wards.

I was admitted on 27/12 and my hospital ward was beautifully decorated for Christmas, lots of trees, tinsel and all sorts. It was lovely so I guess may be it depends on the hospital.

my best friend had her baby on 19th december, the hospital was decorated, straggly tinsel and size 6, half naked trees. It wasn't done very well.

I gave birth on 9th December and there was no hint of Christmas. Not that I'd really thought of it before now, I was a bit preoccupied :o

I'm due on the 5th December and i hope there will be xmas decos up. I think this year i will put my own up early just to make sure that its done Grin

I gave birth to DS2 on 9th of December and there was no sign of Christmas on the wards but there was a nativity scene in the middle of the revolving doors, I went round several times on the way in, to walk out a contraction!

My friend works on maternity and she said if you are in on Christmas Eve, Christmas day or Boxing day the Mums and babies get stockings with presents in, I got excited because I was due on the 23rd but the little blighter came early.Grin

carolinelou can I just commending you for beating the supermarkets and mentioning Christmas in July!!!

Ha ha. :)

However a friend of mine who had her baby at Xmas...they didn't allow Xmas decs in main areas eg where u would be - due to fact that they will pick up germs and have to be binned after Xmas so it's an expense every year. Just random Xmas things on desks. I think it can vary from hospital to hospital.

Got a summer baby due next week but am too excited about all the Xmas stuff I can do once baby is here this year!
