Hi

could someone please tell me the "danger" period for miscarriage after having an amnio? Is it a few days or is it longer?

Pretty sure it's 3 days.
Could be wrong though.

Hi, I had an amnio almost 3 weeks ago and was also wanting to know the answer to this. My consultant who performed the amnio said that the peak time for miscarriage following amnio was around 6 days. The midwife I spoke to said 3-4 weeks post amnio, which seemed a very long time to me. Needless to say, I have been very careful not to do anything too strenous. Sorry to give conflicting answers, what does your consultant advise?

was told 2-3 days.

My consultant said a week but others i know who have had it have said 2-3 days (which i prefer the sound of iykwim)

A week ties in with what my consultant said (6 days) so I'd go with that advice. It seems like forever, but thinking about it, it isn't really that much longer than 3 days. Rest up, I hope your are feeling ok and being well looked after. xx
