Anyone had a private sexing scan?

I've just had 2 scans, one at 18ish weeks and one at 20ish weeks and they were both rubbish!!

I'd like to find somewhere where we can go where they will give us a bit of time to look at the image and show dd what she's seeing, find out the sex and get some decnt pics!!
Just wondering how much they roughly cost and how you go about finding one - I've had a search but I keep getting the 4D ones which are miles away!

I'm sure she said that she got it off Ebay...but I am having lots of thick moments at present!

Forgot about that!! Don't use ebay though.... I think she went for a 4D one. Will go and double check though!!

Hi LL & Zephyr. Yes I have booked a 3D/4D scan. You get pics & a DVD in colour and they take more time to show you everything. It cost me 116 quid & I did get it off Ebay - lol at your 'thick moments' LL but you were right on this one! Must admit I get twice as many of those now - blonde & pregnant...... Where do you live Zephyr?

I had one. I spoke to my midwife and said that I really wanted to know what the sex of the baby was and was annoyed that they didn't do it in our area when they did in others. She said that we could have one done privately but would have to pay. We went to the private hospital next door to the NHS one and my consultant carried it out.

Zeph - My friend got a private scan at a clinic in Edinburgh. It was a full anatomy scan at 20wks and cost £140. They told her the baby was a girl.

It was boy.

Jack/Zeph...I've not even got the bonus of being bloomin blonde! But yay that I did get something right this morning!

these have one in Portsmouth if that is any good? 2D sexing scan is 95 and 4D scan is 195. Will let you kow if I see any more in all my bumf!

I had a fab babybond scan with both my kids. They now offer 4D
It's well worth it IMO, I have the video and DVD of the 30min scan.

Google 4D scans in the UK that will tell you the closet private scanning place.

I had a scan at 25 weeks and got told it was a girl it's really amazing as well well worth the money (£195)

I didn't think they could ever be 100% sure from a scan, anyway?

I used babybond with dd, it was excellent
I have forgotten how much it was, seemed ok at the tiem though.

Babybond look really good and they are the first name I associate with 3/4D scans but they are too far away from us. Can't really afford to go mad either at the moment!!

I am going with Window to the Womb - I live in Nottingham and they are only about 20 mins away. Got mine on 22 December so will let you know how it goes.
To be sure of the sex the baby still has to co-operate by opening it's legs but if it does they can get the same 3D detail that they can on a face. (Not that you would want a picture of THAT! lol)

She said we can pay 65.00 deposit and the rest on the day so we'd have to save like mad for 4 weeks!!

Oooh - go for it Zeph, that's only 4.65 a day to save after the deposit....you only get one chance! We would be having them about the same time then.

I'm soooo tempted! This will be the last chance as well as I'm never ever ever getting pg again lol
