I'm going out for a chinese tonight and was wondering what the consensus was about eating prawns. Some websites say it's ok, some say to avoid.
I thought I'd check with the mn jury!

Id be inclined to avoid them shoejunkie, I think its if they are off theres a risk of salmonella or listeria, Ive had salmonella from a hoiday in Turkey.... U dont want it! How far gone are u? x

I say ok as long as cooked through and piping hot! Would eat them if I'd cooked them myself; would be more dubious about a chinese if they'd been sitting there for a bit!

I would at home, wouldn't out.

cooked shellfish is fine, I've eaten prawns all through pg.

Yes. If they're pink, they're cooked, ergo they should be absolutely fine.
