Hi everyone, I am in the early stages of my first trimester (5+1) and I noticed a band of hives across my stomach last night, they were raised but not too itchy, has anyone any expeirnce of hives in pregnancy? They had faded by this morning so perhaps its just a once off. Its my first pregnancy and I'm not sure if its normal or not. Thanks in advance for any replies

Not quite the same thing but I have the itchiest upper legs ever and they look really rashy! This is my second pregnancy but if anything, my skin cleared up a treat last time round (have always had a bit of a spotty botty) but am definitely going to raise it with my mw.. more because they're irritating rather than because I think there's something wrong!

Tbh, I wouldn't worry too much about them as your body does some crazy stuff throughout pregnancy (my leg hairs stopped growing last time which I am hoping beyond hope will happen again!) but if you're really concerned, give your mw a call to put your mind at rest!

Def mention that at your booking in appointment, they may want to do an extra blood test to rule out >.

Yep, I had prurigo of pregnancy (GP told me it affects 2 in 1000 pregnancies, it's like stinging nettle rash and for me, none of the treatments worked and it took two and a half weeks after the birth for it to go :( ). Am terrified it'll happen during next pregnancy.

Handy guide to pregnancy-related itching

Thank you both very much, I don't have a mw as I live in Ireland (the system is different here), I went to see my GP and she referred me to the hospital but that will take between 12-14 weeks. I will contact my GP if this occurs more often and if it becomes uncomfortable, thats for replying
