Can you tell me your favourite shops for maternity wear?

I have been asked by a friend who is pg where she can buy decenet maternity wear that is adjustable - for both work and home.

She is not quite 3 months but is already getting a tiny bump and she has found that her waist is already expanding, and on top too. So her own normal clotehs are getting too tight. But at the moment maternity wear such as from next is still a little too big.

What are your favourite shops?

Thank you

I used to like Dorothy Perkins, Mothercare for trousers and tops from Next (their trousers weren't any good IMO)

La Redoute have some lovely maternity wear in atm.

Isabella Oliver, online for nice bits.

Hennes for day to day wear.

JoJo Bebe online / catalouge

Vertbaudet maternity, onlin e, or catalouge

Arrrggh! Don't get me started on maternity wear, I have spent all weekend looking for a nice christmas dress but to no avail (so have ordered one from a designer on ebay at a good price). However, I have bought some stuff from DP and Next - they tend to have the more trendy clothes in but IMO most shops that do maternity only have about 10 items to choose from, it's very difficult.

H&M have some great stuff, but not really for early. I had big problems with early stuff, the only thing I really liked was one pair of pinstripe trousers from Next.

Saw Isabella Oliver ladies on a pg channel the other day - their clothes look very adaptable and wellmade but seemed a bit pricey.

i never really did maternity wear i just bought bigger and bigger sizes of things but next h&m and topshop do nice maternity wear

Excellent; this is all great! Keep them coming too.

She is based down south and they work in the centre of London, so any London based shops is good too.

Isabella Oliver is pricey but I bought a maternity strapless top that I have really got the wear out of, it's fab abd I've worn it to all the parties I've been to since becoming pregnant. It can also be worn when i do longer have a bump so money well spent.

Agree...although I never actually bought anything from Isabella Oliver the maternity wear I've drooled over online looks gorgeous. I had a thing about a long sleep suit a few months back. Very pretty.

I bought a lot of things from DP, they were doing a BOGOF on loads of stuff so got a good selection of trousers and tops.

Mothercare - bought one of those denim skirts that kind of expand with you, that was a good buy.

Another vote for H&M, the Oxford St store (near Bond St tube I think) is good.

mancmum · 21/11/2005 14:36

formes!! lovely -- again a bit pricey but I wore some of the dresses after babies were born as they are lovely

saadia · 21/11/2005 15:35

I got some good stuff at Dorothy Perkins.

Asda's trousers are really comfy and really cheap the expand really well to

I always found next maternity wear was huge, although I did find some nice under bump jeans from there. Topshop do a great pair of black wide leg under bump trousers which adjust at the sides, which are good for work, and their maternity combats were really nice too. I got a couple of really pretty t-shirts from there too and basics like vests.
