Bikini line wax at 39 wks?

Will be 39 wks tomorrow and am quite fed up. DD1 came at 39 wks so in my mind I sort of thought this one might have come by now!

Have just booked a bikini line wax for 3.30 this afternoon - am I mad? Know it might be more painful than usual and it's not pretty down there so will be a bit embarrassed but thought I should put this time to good use! Also thought that I won't get round to it for a while afterwards! Hope then that labour doesn't start until it's stopped being all red and spotty....

Do you think the pain might bring on labour????!!

i just went for a bikini wax this morning, i'm 37 weeks tomorrow, it was soooo painful! but if i end up being overdue i'll probably go for another one because i dont want to scare the midwives at the hospital bu looking like a yetti.

Heehee, yes definitely I'm in danger of scaring them if I don't get it done!

Maybe I'm subconciously waiting to go into labour until I've been de-yetti'd. Here's hoping!

fingers crossed for you, my DP was worried that going for a wax might bring on labor but she's still there, no signs on anything happening yet. have fun at your wax! also think i'm going to go to one of those places today where the fish eat the rough skin off your feet, see if it shrinks my feet down enough so i can get my feet into my shoes!

Okay - just come back, and it was SERIOUSLY painful, even with the wax that doesn't stick to your skin, just to your hairs. Felt like she was ripping them out with duck tape, and definitely more sensitive than usual. But, am glad to be defuzzed now, so hopefully the midwives/doctors will appreciate the effort I've gone to!!

I was discussing my pre birth wax the other day and decided I just wouldn't go to my usual place!! it's the same as my hairdresser and I'd hate her to hear how unkept I'd become!!!

haha i hope the midwives do appreciate the extra effort just for them, i was thinking of getting a pedicure as well, so that at least my toes look pretty when the rest of me if huffing and puffing and probably swearing my head off.

I have been keeping up my regular appointments in that department (am now 30 weeks). I too have noticed it is a LOT more sensetive than normal. OUCH!

Blimey - I'm more worried about giving birth than I am about whether my pubic hair looks nice for the midwife! Am pretty sure she won't care!

I had uber painful brazilians at the end of my first/beginning of my second trimester to the point I thought I'd have to resort to Immac for the remainder of my pregnancy. Thankfully the last 2 have been pain free (well, you know what I mean )

I am trying to time my final few (29.5 weeks now) to take into account if bub is early...oh, the vanity...!

Wow- Brazilians, that's hardcore. Just the 'standard' nearly finished me off!

Not relating to the waxing but the fish pedicure thing. I had one yesterday and although it was lovely(after the initial tickling) I actually found my feet were more swollen than normal afterwards as your feet are just dangling in the water for 15 minutes. You have no support for them. Had to have them up all night and my mum was giving me foot massages to try and bring them down. Btw not worried about pre clampsia as it was just fat feet!
