... goat's cheese! Brie! Camembert! Stilton!

Really have a craving for all those tonight. And still 29 weeks to go before I can indulge .

Are these cheeses okay to eat if you cook them, in a toastie or ciabatta or something? Does anybody know?

yuk, yuk, yuk - slimy cheese

SoupDragon · 19/11/2005 20:40

I think they're OK if cooked thoroughly and piping hot.

SoupDragon · 19/11/2005 20:41

(but Stilton?? BARF! It's mouldy for heaven's sake!)

foundintranslation · 19/11/2005 20:41

If they actually melt and bubble you should be fine, as heating kills listeria.

foundintranslation · 19/11/2005 20:43

(am with you soupy! And I detest camembert/brie so that was one less thing it was a hardship for me to give up!)

foundintranslation · 19/11/2005 20:44

emkana you're pg? Must have missed your announcement! Congratulations!

hunkermunker · 19/11/2005 20:44

I've got 8 weeks to go before I can eat pretty much anything again.

emkana · 19/11/2005 20:45

hunkermunker

Thank you fit!

Stilton and crackers is to die for IMO.

No, you read it wrong, nothing to be of. I have gestational diabetes so am struggling to find anything at all I can eat

SoupDragon · 19/11/2005 20:46

But it's mouldy!!

I have a big mental block about mould, bordering on a phobia

emkana · 19/11/2005 20:49

Very sorry hunkermunker, didn't read your post properly.

My commiserations!!! You poor thing!

emkana - surely the only goats cheese that you cant eat would be the ones like brie?

cheddar type goats cheeses would be OK.

intergalacticwalrus · 19/11/2005 21:56

I remember wanting a big, juicy rare steak all the way through my pg. I remember when DS was 5 days old, dragging DP to the local pub cum restaurant to get one. God it tasted good, and even better DS slept the whole time we were there, thus allowing me to chomp away in peace!!!!

Hazellnut · 19/11/2005 22:18

ooh ditto with the juicy steak but then every time post pregnancy dh tried to cook me one as a treat he overdid it and it ended up like a preggy person could eat it !! typical !
