Oh no, a TMI thread that I promised myself I would not have to ask...

I have just been to the toilet (both numbers as it were) and the toilet water when I went to flush was rather pink, like blood tinged. There was nothing at all on the paper.
Anyone got any ideas?! Should I be concerned do we think?

Oh God, its my second and I was not planning on asking these sorts of questions but please help!

Am 34 weeks BTW and am a little bit crampy.

Have you eaten any beetroot in the last 24 hours?

MissRedIndie · 17/06/2011 21:37

Presume you haven't got any cuts that the blood could be coming from? To be honest I would probably call your local antenatal ward now and ask them, they might have you come in for a bit of reassurance. I remember when I was on the antenatal ward with DD1 for my high BP, there was a girl there who had been bleeding, and they had her wear a pad so that she could let them know exactly how much blood she was losing. Might be worth doing some similar? Hope everything turns out ok, sure it'll be drama for no reason though!

I'm sure it will be, thats why I don't really want to go in, means I either go in alone or phone MIL who is babysitting for my nieces and nephews!
And howdidthishappenthen - thats the first thing DH said!

I had that too at about 14ish weeks and it was a fissure... nice! Dr gave me cream for it. If ur certain there is no blood from ur 'front bottom' (ha ha how childish) then I'm sure its nothing to worry about. Could also be piles which is really common in pregnancy..

cowboylover · 17/06/2011 23:00

Maybe an internal pile ( and this is TMI) is only exposed when your bowel is open so you wont feel it or much on the paper when you have finished.

As others recommended maybe a liner to check if anything leaking.

G1nger · 17/06/2011 23:01

Piles... If I were you, I'd keep an eye on things until the morning and look for more blood.

minmooch · 17/06/2011 23:21

Could also by cystitus (?sp) - uti. When I had this badly my wee was coloured by blood. Simple cure though.

Hope all is well.

Moodykat · 18/06/2011 09:25

Thank you for all your suggestions. I chose (hmm, sp?) to go to bed and see what happened and thus far, nothing further has. I had discounted piles as I kept reading that they are supposed to hurt but if not then I'm sure that must be what it was!
Hey ho, we shall see! Its great this pregnancy lark isn't it?!

Piles dont always hurt, I get internal ones when pregnant and it is very rare that they give me any problems... apart from mild panic when going to the loo and then I remember where the blood has come from.
Pregnancy is all fun fun fun Grin

I often get blood and no pain, piles at 24 just isnt right!
