having a third membrane sweep?

I had a membrane sweep last week (cervix posterior, 1.5 long, stretched to 2cm, didnt hurt too much) and another yesterday (cervix 1cm long, 1 cm dilated, soft, 50% effaced and hurt like hell).

At yesterdays appointment the doc advised that if nothing happened over the weekend I could see a midwife at the beginning of next week for another sweep. He also booked me for induction next thursday. Im keen to avoid induction but I am just wondering if 2 other sweeps have failed is there any point trying a third?

I went in to labour after a third sweep!

Yeah, me too, and was told that the previous 'sweeping' were not done properly. 3rd one did hurt but did the trick, so you could be on your way. Good luck
