Signs of labour??

Hi

I'm almost 39 wks pregnant with DC2. You'd think that I'd be able to detect the signs of imminent labour but I think somehow my brain has turned to mush!

Seriously though with DD1 the start of my labour was not particularly 'normal' in that my waters went in the middle of the night with meconium in them. At this point I had felt no pain or discomfort. We were told to come straight to hospital and when I got there I was examined and told that I was 2cm dilated already and that they would have to induce me using syntocin due to the meconium. I hadn't fely a single contraction at this point. Anyway, the rest of the labour was then fairly straightforward despite going from 0-60 with the intensity of the contractions Smile.

So what I'm trying to say is that I've not experienced the 'normal' kind of build up to labour so am looking for people to tell me how they started off. Just interested really!

At the moment, I'm being sick every morning after breakfast and have fairly loose bowel movements (sorry TMI!). I have days when I can almost feel DC2's head burrowing down and days when my bump feels high up again. Plus I've had the odd BH (I think, didn't get them last time) and twinges.

Hope this makes sense? Guess what it boils down to is that I'm getting a tad impatient and want something to happen!! Grin

I bloody hope you're right. Still no contractions though. How have I managed to get to 3cm dilated without feeling anything! Confused!

Thats just pure luck!!! A labour with no pain!!! I don't think you'll stay that way for long! Get yourself a knitting needle and pop your bag!!! Grin just kidding!! Be patient!!

I was tempted to ask the MW to pop it while she was up there! Smile

It was quite a bizarre experience when she said she was touching the baby's head!

Hahahah!!! I honestly thought you would!!! It's so frustrating it's actually funny!!! I'd be trying to give myself sweeps by now!!! Go for a big walk, do something active! Don't panic, you still have all today and the weekend!! Go for lunch and have a small glass of wine to help you relax, definitely need to relax!!! :)

i think i might be going into labour im fairly sure this is what it felt like with my first great my dh is going to kill me its his 22nd today and he had a bbq planned in the garden with his mates i have a feeling we may be heading to the hospital when he gets home from work oh my god it hurts me and my back are about to have a fall out

How are you getting on babyonboard? So jealous.

Have done loads of walking today copper but to no avail. Really feel like my body does not know what to do. It's driving me crazy!!!!!! Want my waters to go pop and then at least I'd have a reason to ring the hospital. That would be a start!!!

Ha ha, we did actually do the deed last night but it hasn't done much so far! I was up for about 2hrs during the night as I did feel like something was happening. But no...!

Nope nothing! Can you believe it? Had a few mild contractions yesterday but they've come to nothing again. I seem to get a few most afternoons/evenings and then that's it.

Hello, 40 weeks tomorrow with a HUGE bump, have had little contractions for just over a week at sporadic intervals but no sign of anything helpful. Bump measured three times at mw appointment last Thursday as so large. Eek, second dd for us.

Well, I hope now for your sake you hold out till Tuesdays induction!! Have a great birthday for little one tomorrow!! At least Dd will have a birthday all to herself, without you being in hospital!! Hold out till Tuesday and cross your legs!!!

everything stopped :( but been at the hospital today, the midwife says im still engaged, 3cms dilated and is hoping i will have a baby before the week is out yay

Oooh good luck babyonbord.

My dd1 is nearly 4.

My baby is so active, keeps taking my breath away with her kicking, and feel like she is going to um, ' fall out ' at the mo.
