Signs of labour??

Hi

I'm almost 39 wks pregnant with DC2. You'd think that I'd be able to detect the signs of imminent labour but I think somehow my brain has turned to mush!

Seriously though with DD1 the start of my labour was not particularly 'normal' in that my waters went in the middle of the night with meconium in them. At this point I had felt no pain or discomfort. We were told to come straight to hospital and when I got there I was examined and told that I was 2cm dilated already and that they would have to induce me using syntocin due to the meconium. I hadn't fely a single contraction at this point. Anyway, the rest of the labour was then fairly straightforward despite going from 0-60 with the intensity of the contractions Smile.

So what I'm trying to say is that I've not experienced the 'normal' kind of build up to labour so am looking for people to tell me how they started off. Just interested really!

At the moment, I'm being sick every morning after breakfast and have fairly loose bowel movements (sorry TMI!). I have days when I can almost feel DC2's head burrowing down and days when my bump feels high up again. Plus I've had the odd BH (I think, didn't get them last time) and twinges.

Hope this makes sense? Guess what it boils down to is that I'm getting a tad impatient and want something to happen!! Grin

Heads can pop in and out like yoyo's! Doesn't mean anything! The head will come down in labour, don't base it on this! Relax is the most important thing as it's proven that the anticipation of waiting for it to happen actually stops it! You produce to much of something that stews your body going into labour, I think it's adrenalin.

It's Friday!! Big glass of wine and a good romp!! Not to get labour started, just to enjoy ourselves!!!! :)

I like your thinking Copper! Think I will treat myself to a vino this weekend Smile

@Coppernoddle i think ur remarks were quite rude, i was sharing my story and somehow i was trying to scare the shit out of someone? because i did not have an easy breezy labor does not mean i dont get to share my experience.. not everyone has easy labors but like myself they dont regret it and seeing ur beautiful baby at the end of it all makes it all so much very worth it... im rather offended by your comments. good luck with your birth ipredicttrouble i wish u all the best

Coppernoddle · 18/06/2011 20:12

Ipredicttrouble how are we today? Any news? Can't wait to here all about it!

Needanswers - very sorry if I offended you! You scared the life out of me too and I'm on my third! Sorry to hear you've had a rough time! Mine was not a walk in the pat but definitely not as stressful as yours! This one on the other Gand, if anything else could go wrong it would! I'm booked for c section and am bricking myself! Then I'd of had every type! Hospital birth, home birth and c section, think I'll call it quits after this and get hubby castrated Grin

Good luck ipredicttrouble :)

Evening, not much happening. Went for a walk today which seemed to jiggle things up a bit but all calm again now! Enjoying a glass of wine as I type.

I can imagine being nervous about a c section. I suppose it's the unknown again. You will be fine though Smile.

Thanks to both of you for your well wishes Smile

Any news today?

Am reading with interest as i am 37 weeks am feeling very weird today. Sort of spaced out, have been worrying it means something is happening but think I am just being paranoid.

ipredicttrouble · 22/06/2011 14:03

Hi RottenRow

Absolutely no sign at all. My DF had a dream that I would have him/her today but I don't think that's going to come true!

Sorry you're feeling weird, it could mean something but then again I feel like I've had every odd feeling going over the last few weeks and none of them have come to anything yet! I analyse every bloody feeling and am driving myself mad in the process!

ipredicttrouble · 23/06/2011 19:10

Hi all,

Well I did have a bit of blood at about midday today and about 4 contractions this afternoon/evening. However, they are very erratic at the moment. God knows!? Even though this is my 2nd DC I still feel like I have no clue what's going on! Smile

Coppernoddle · 23/06/2011 20:05

Lol!! I'm sure you'll find out soon enough!! Be patient and it sounds like your heading in the right direction! Your second will be completely different from your first so don't compare it! They will be unbelievably different!
Oooh, very exited for you, good luck x x x
