New mum of twins - Leeds

Hello ladies

Anyone in Leeds / West Yorks area who's also on maternity leave or are stay at home mums and wanting to make new mummy friends then helloooo! Does anyone know any baby groups around Leeds where you can take young babies along and meet new mums ? All my friends have older kids and are working full time, so would love to meet like minded mums with babies.

There are some twin groups - there's www.yorkshiremultiples.co.uk/ (nope, head can't do threads before 7am...) - although it's Bradford / Wharfedale based. Depends which bit of Leeds that you're in. There's also TAMBA if you haven't found it yet which will probably have Leeds stuff.

Whereabouts in Leeds are you? I know about things in and around LS4. Let me know if you're nearby.
There are some NCT bumps and babies groups, check the NCT website. Also plenty of toddler/baby groups in church halls, surestart centres etc. Have you asked your health visitor? Netmums has probably also got lots listed :)

Thank you for that, i will check these sites out. I am in Leeds 6 - Meanwood area. I've also had a look on Tamba site and yes there is a twin club which i'll go along to and hopefully meet new mums.

I am in Meanwood - LS6 area. What's happening in LS4? My health visitor has given me some information (she came yesterday) about some baby groups under 12 months old, so i will go to one of them next week.

Did you say you are also having twins? Do you know what you are having? When are you due? Looking after my twins is definitely the hardest thing i've had to do, mentally and physically. They are my first and it is basically non stop eating, eating and eating. They dont sleep for more than 2 hours day and night. But of course, it is very rewarding, they are just so lovely and cuddly. I dont think i'll be wanting any more though !

Elizabeth32 My dd1 was like that - we remember being so "refreshed" the first time she slept at night for 3 hours in a row! I'm now pg with twins so am hoping they will be calmer than dd1!

Your HV should be able to give you details about local groups.

I would love to sleep for more than 3 hours, that just sounds heavenly. My partner is working away so i am having to do everything myself which is hard work. I am afraid to tell you, but it is going to be hard with twins! Everything is doubled and it's exhausting. In my case i found it better to wake both of them up at night and try to feed both, otherwise you'll be feeding every hour...i have found out the hard way. I fed the one that cried and then an hour later the other woke up and then it was non stop all night.
