At 36 weeks I think you might have problems getting an airline to let you fly at all. KLM is very generous with its pregnancy restrictions - no Dr note needed up to 36 weeks, but no flying at all after 36 weeks. I was going to fly with them at 34 weeks, having had not problems at all flying with them frequently until 30+ weeks, but I didn't want to take the chance of having a delay (e.g. the volcano) and then not being able to get back at all. Other scheduled airlines seem to say you can't fly from 'the 36th week', which seems to mean from 35 weeks.

I flew with Easyjet on the 33rd week on the way out and on the 35th wekk on the way back. They did ask for fit to fly letter and even photocopied it, so getting it before you fly would be wise. Easyjet alliws yiu on board until the 36th week, if i remember correctly.

Thinking of going on a mini hols end of my 33rd wk back in my 34th wk do you think that will be OK?

I flew with Easyjet at 34 weeks in my last pregnancy, and had to take a doctor's letter with specific wording saying I was fit to fly etc.
Don't forget, even if the airline lets you fly, your travel insurance probably won't cover you. Some standard ones go up to 32 weeks, but most only up to 28 weeks. I had to find a specialist insurer that would cover me - can't remember the name of it off the top of my head but can dig them up if you want to know.

Oops forgot to say, yes they were very keen to see it and checked it at check-in and again at the gate.

Flew from Hong Kong at 35 weeks back to UK. Had to have a very recent (it was less than 2 weeks old) doctor's letter stating that I was fit to fly, my due date and that there was only one baby( as they stop you flying earlier for twins etc.).
