Bleeding 3 weeks pregnant

Have woken up this morning bleeding after 2 positive tests on Monday and 7 months TTC. I'm distraught.

Hi LPO - when was your period due? Are you 3 weeks pregnant -as in have youovulated a week ago or are you 3 weeks over your missed period?

Just trying to figure out if it could be implantation bleeding of some sort?

I was due my period at the weekend. It's getting heavier and heavier. And more and more painful.
Don't think it's just implantation bleeding because it's so heavy.

LPO I would get yourself down to see your GP then - esp if it is heavy and doesn't stop. Have you cramps and pain as well?

Is there any point in going to see the doctor? It's so early that they won't be able to do anything. I was planning on giving it a few days and seeing what happens. It's getting heavier though so clearly have lost the baby.

Renaissance No, my periods run pretty much to the day. And I also had the 2 positive tests.

Yes, like period blood and with little clots.
TBH I just don't see the point in making an appointment, getting showered/dressed and dragging DS out the house to go see a doctor who is more than likely just going to say that there is nothing that he can do.
I would rather just wait and let it run it's course over the next few days. And see if it stops like a period would.

Just feel so low. We'd stupidly got ourselves so excited about it so early on. I think because we've been trying for a while it's such a knock.
I keep thinking about thiings, like is it because DS jumped on me yesterday, or because i did the supermarket shop and carried heavy bags. Or because my mum lost her second baby early on.

I can assure you it will be none of those reasons, so please don't start thinking like that. It was just very early and lots can happen in the early stages. My closest friend has just lost a baby at 18 weeks, so I know how horrible it can be.
I'm really sorry that this has happened. Just keep your chin up (I know it's hard) and keep trying.
I'll stil keep everything crossed for you for next time. x

Lpo, this has happened to me. it may well be that you stay pregnant, I didn't and went through all sorts of fuss going to early pregnancy unit too soon because there wasn't anything they could scan at that stage. I am really really sorry for you if it doesn't work out, but at this early stage there isn't much the gp can do so my advice would be to look after yourself, take it easy and then maybe do another test in a week or so. And absolutely, if this isn't good news it will not be anything you have done. Look after yourself, this is a rubbish thing to happen after the excitement of a positive test. After it happened to me we went on to have lovely ds.

I bled at three weeks, on and off until six weeks (I actually assumed a late period). I had a (private) scan at six weeks as the pregnancy tests were positive but I was still bleeding, and they detetcted a heartbeat.
At just under twelve weeks I had a massive bleed with lots of clots; the bathroom looked a bit like a horror film set. Went into hospital and the scan the next day showed the baby was still there. Bled for a further week/two weeks.
After that things settled down; and have just had DS.
I don't know what your doctor will say with you only being 3 weeks, and I think most early pregnancy units only see you after six weeks (I may be wrong) but fingers crossed for you.

Thank you for all your advice. You are giving me a little hope. But it's just like a normal period now. Is this similar to what happened to you? My stomach feels like period and the flow is like 2nd day period. Constant.

I am going to wait it out, see what happens and test again in a week.
It's hard to cling onto hope when I thinkI should just accept it. Don't want to get my hopes up and then crash again when I test next week.

Before my big bleeding started, I was actually asleep, and when I woke up with a bit of tummy pain, I remember feeling it felt like I was about to start my period.
In the hospital I was convinced I had lost the baby and didn't even want to console myself with thoughts about people I knew who had experienced bleeding and still were pregnant, because I didn't want to get my hopes up iyswim.
Rest up, try not to over analyze or think of reasons why (like you, I blamed the fact I'd been lifting heavy boxes etc the day before), because it is very, very unlikely anything you have done has led to bleeding.

I phoned my doctor and he said that he wants me to go in tomorrow to have some blood tests done to check the hcg levels.
Still bleeding and feeling very achy.

Hi LPO, sorry to read what you're going through.
I don't want to give you false hope but i've had bleeding in my pregnancies, sometimes heavy bleeding and all was well.
I've also had some early losses too, infact just had a very early loss.
I got some faint positive tests on Thurs, Fri and Sat but they were all faint and i kinda knew it wasn't going to last, sun i got a neg test and i came on yesterday.

If you did another test it may give you some indication if your still pregnant but obviously won't tell you if everything is ok but may help whilst you have your blood test and wait for the results.

Sadly there won't be anything they can do if you are going to miscarry. If the levels are normal for how far gone you are, it'd be a good idea to get another one done 2-3 days later to make sure its rising as it should.

When do you think would make sense to test again?
Surely there is no way I can be bleeding this heavily with clots and yet it still be ok? Everything is saying that there is no way that can be possible.

Pregancy hormone can take a few weeks to decrease after mc, therefore if you test agin, you will defo get a +. There is very little point in testing again.

Its important that you go to your GP so that this can be put onto your record.
If (God forbid) you need any investigations in the future, it will help to have this recorded and counted.

You can have very heavy bleeding and everything can still be ok.
I went to see my gp as my periods were very heavy, she did some blood tests and thats how i found out i was 11wks pregnant with my 1st child.

Hormone levels can drop quickly esp if you're only just pregnant, depends on how high they got to i suppose. If you're 10wks it'd take longer to drop than at 4+2 wks for example.

How many weeks would you be, i'm a little confused.

Still go for the blood test, like the post above said, if it is a miscarriage it would be useful to have it on record.

i would go to the gp and at least register that you had a positive pregnancy test. I have been through this, 4 times. so i know the agony. the 1st two times, i was young, and didn't know what to do. But last year, the last two, i reported them, and have been seen by a specialist! Its not as bad as people think. I'm 24, yes young to see a specialist. But without them I wouldn't be here today 8 weeks and 7 days.

Hun go report it, its the best thing you can do. I am so sorry, you could be fine, but i followed everyones advice, and I was devastated by the results. You can't tell unless you've been to a specialist! I shall keep everything crossed for you, and send you lots of baby dust!

Thank you all for your advice again. I am going to the doctors this morning for blood tests and a check. Woke up still really heavy and in loads of pain today. Guess I will just have to wait and see what he says and what the results come back as.

Serendipity I would be 3 +2 weeks.
Fizz I'm 22. This is my second pregnancy. First one was perfect and now have a perfect 2yo! Thought it would be as easy again, but after 8months of trying and then this.

Doctor has done blood tests to check HCG levels but he says I will have to go back again in another week to have more tests to see that they have lowered.
