Rash on stomach

Just wonder what you all think - have had a little virus (felt v sick / stomach cramps etc but no vomiting) for 24 hours (children were ill with vomiting virus shortly after) and a rash appeared on my stomach. Am assuming it is a viral rash.

Would you bother going to a GP? An 33 weeks.

I think if you are worried you should go to GP rash is a bit weird.

Hi Dycey, I would see your GP or widwife. I got a rash on my tummy at 38 weeks which quickly spread all over my entire body and had it for 8 or 9 weeks (not fun itching whist trying to breast feed a newborn). They said it was just a pregnancy rash, although a severe reaction to god knows what hormones. They told me to use Aqueous cream with menthol to soothe it - DO NOT DO THIS! The menthol cooled the hot skin but the aqueous, which is a detergent and meant to be used as a soap substitute and not rubbed in and kept on the skin, aggrivated the problem so much worse!
Was my GP who told me not to use Aqueous (7 weeks after midwife told me to) and it cleared pretty soon after that.
Hopefully your rash is just a pregnancy rash (and stays localised), but always best to see GP and get them to take a skin swab to rule out anything out.
By the way, I didn't get the rash again in next pregnancy, so guess it was just one of those things!

I think generally it's quite normal to have a small rash after a virus (my GP told me this once) but because you're pregnant might be worth ringing midwife.

Thanks all, it seems to be fading... I might go to the gp in a couple of days when am not working and if I do I will report back! It hasn't spread but it us itchy. Won't use acquas cream!
