Bleeding gums

Anyone else suffering with bleeding gums whilst pregnant? I am 29 weeks now and last weekend my gums started to bleed when flossing and it has continued all week, should I be worried? I do suffer with nosebleeds whilst pregnant so am not sure if it just all the extra blood pumping around me or if I need to visit the dentist??

Dont panic, it is quite common. I spoke to my dentist about this, he said that as with the immune system, the gums become more suseptable (sp?) to bacteria during pregnancy, and the simple way to stop any gum disease is to brush after any food. After baby is born they should go back to normal.
I hate getting bleeding gums, and if it happens, I make sure I have more visits to the bathroom to clean my teeth during the day.

This is my third pregnancy and the third time I get bleeding gums. Your body has much more blood pumping around and this is quite common, I believe.

Mine are terrible, dentist told me to keep brushing exactly the same, something to do with extra blood / more sensitive membranes. Can lead to gingivitis so make use of your free dental care:)

Yup, my dentist told me to just carry on flossing and "it will get worse before it gets better" (great!)

I got it before I realised I was pregnant and freaked me out. Had really swollen gums and some teethe felt very loose. Improved but every now and again get some bleeding. Dentist will say to use Corsidil and keep teeth clean. Hope yours is not too painful

You shouldn't worry and should continue your hygiene routine.
