im 35 weeks pregnant and have started getting some sharp pains, that i would discribe as tearing where id imagine my cervix is, and sometimes feel so much preasure down there i feel the need to hold the bottom of my bump and stop moving, is this anything to worry about or is it normal near the end of pregnancy??

I think you should call you midwife and have a chat.
Do you mean the pains have just started today? Have you tried timing any?

i havent timed them, i have had them a few days, they happen maybe twice a day, one of my friends has a weak cervix and im now wondering weather this is what it is

I am 38 weeks and have been getting stabbing pains in my cervix for a few weeks now. The midwife said its pressure on the pelvis and the baby starting to become engaged. They are so sharp though they take my breath away at times. It feels like the baby (or my bladder) is going to fall out sometimes when I stand up or walk and she said this was just the weight/pressure of the baby. Not much fun!

If they're not regular then it's probably just baby engaging and all the pressure. I'd still have a chat though to put your mind at rest.

I had this, my madwife said it was baby engaging, only he decided to dis-engage and has been changing position for the last few weeks !! i'm 36 weeks now :)
