Very early pregnancy 'symptoms'

Hi there ladies.

Is it possible to have really early signs of pregnancy just after a few days of conception?

Just a few hours after me and my boyfriend had intercourse, I woke up with nausea and twinges around my left ovary area. I didn't even think about getting pregnant until I started feeling these 'symptoms' which has led me to actually believe that I am/going to be pregnant.

The twinges aren't like period cramps, they are more like little frequent pokes. I've been feeling them for the best of three days now. So I was wondering if anyone also has experienced this, or just 'knew' instantly and found out later that they were expecting.

I know my own body, and this isn't like anything else I have felt before.

My period is due early next week, so it might be that - but I doubt it is to be honest! I guess I won't find out for sure until I take a test, but it would be nice to know if it IS plausible to have these sensations before hand.

Thanks! :)

Hi there!

TBH I don't think this is possible. But I reaaally don't want to disappoint you. The hormones that make you feel pregnant start after the egg has implanted itself in you uterus. That will at least take 10 days minimum after fertilization of the egg.

There are some early pregnancy test that you can take 4 days before you period. It worked for me.

Good luck and fingers crossed!

there is such a thing as ovulation pain/cramping. could it be that?

meepmeep92 · 25/05/2011 21:07

Thanks for the responses.

@supadupapupascupa. I don't think it's ovulation cramping. Surely I would have experienced these twinges before it if were that? I guess it's more than possible though.

It doesn't hurt or anything, just a little twinge.

I generally tend to have pains in this area a day before my period - but they reallllllllly drag. Nothing at all like this.

I suppose it's too early to believe it's anything else though.

I had implantation cramping straight away.

In my lower abdomen on the left broaching across my pubic bone.

Sickness didn't kick in until 4 weeks with my first and 7 weeks with this pregnancy, so perhaps that's different.

Suggest an early pregnancy test-the earlier you are the fainter the line might be so buy a few so you can re test if needs be! Fingers crossed!

I ' knew ' after a day or so I was pregnant . I had a strange pulling sensation in my pelvis area. My boobs grew and were v sore. All happened straight away. Even my friends and sister asked if I was. Weird .

I had a sore armpit all 3 times before I missed a period.

wheresmytractor · 25/05/2011 21:51

I got a BFP last friday and my period is not due til this Saturday, i tested as i had very vivid dreams(had them in my other pregnancies to) also had implantation bleed and achey boobs.

RugbyWidow7 · 25/05/2011 21:55

I felt thirsty and irritable straight away and just knew something was different. Still thirsty now at 7 weeks!

IvyAndGold · 25/05/2011 21:55

i started crying about everything. the one i remember most was getting my trousers from over the banister where they'd been drying to put them on for work and they were still slightly damp. DP found me at the top of the stairs, sobbing! Blush

oh, and i got ridiculously spotty. normally have very clear skin, but this was unbelievable! luckily only lasted a week or two!

RugbyWidow7 · 25/05/2011 21:55

Oops make that 27 weeks!!

MirandaGoshawk · 25/05/2011 21:58

I knew staight away too, just felt 'different'. Lots of hormones rushing about with twins Grin

meepmeep92 · 25/05/2011 22:51

I have had a few other 'things' too going on. Like what RugbyWidow7 said, I've been drinking a hell of a lot more, especially yesterday. I can't seem to quench my thirst.

Time will tell I guess!

I can feel implantation. Not in a hippy, woo way but in a physical way. There is no other feeling I can compare it to and when it happened with my first pregnancy (ended in miscarriage) I was a bit frightened something had burst or it was my appendix (right side) but then it happened again with dd but on the left side. It started at around 6 days post ovulation and lasted a couple of days. I then had mild nausea from around 11 days post ovulation which got worse over time.

BearBehavingBadly · 25/05/2011 23:00

In hindsight looking back at the first four weeks I felt extremely tired & completely went off alcohol (good job too).
I just knew that I was going to get a BFP!

Broodzilla · 26/05/2011 06:33

with DS, I felt the implantation as a funny twingey feeling... right after that, about 10 days BEFORE the bfp, my boobs got really sore. Then I noticed my hair barely needed to be washed, it just stopped getting dirty... At this point, nothing showed up on the test. The nausea kicked in as soon as I missed my period... and didn't stop for about 28 weeks Biscuit
