Hi

I had 3 specs for a pushchair that it was a travel system, it's a 3 wheeler and its purple. Ive found one i want but am only 11 weeks is it too early? I am not superstitious but so much could go wrong am i being silly?

www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_3504+2418_10751_-1_58179_106853_10001_58179

Its a bargain - it is a kiddicare own brand pushchair with carry cot, car seat, muff, raincovers etc all for £279.99. It has been discontinued hence the cost and they only have a 40 left so if i wait i will miss out.

the reviews are good and it looks like exactly what i wanted. I could put in the loft until baby comes and god forbid something goes wrong i either keep it for next time or sell it.

What do you all think? When have others bought theres?

I'd say that the warranty counts from the day of purchase so if it lasts for, let's say, 3 years and something happens after 2,5, then you're out of warranty. Plus if it's discontinued, how will you get the spare parts?

mosschops30 · 23/05/2011 19:40

Yes i think its too early

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/05/2011 19:40

Yes, early for warranty reasons. I was stung by that with DD. There are always deals going on. I know how tempting it is though.

Paschaelina · 23/05/2011 19:42

I think if you like it and you're sure its the one you want then you should get it now, life's too short to spend wondering if you should have and didn't.

Purplebuns · 23/05/2011 19:44

It is early in your pg, and there will always be another (lush) pushchair and if you have a boy would that change your mind r.e the pink/purple of it?

SecretNutellaFix · 23/05/2011 19:45

Warranty begins as soon as it is in your possession. It's the same for electrical goods as well. They only offer a 12 month guarantee, so you lose 6 months of it if you have it now.

can I just ask though- are you the sort of person to whom it would matter that people thought your baby was a girl, if it turns out to be a boy? Because that is what would happen with that one, due to the fairly serious amount of pink on it.

figgygal · 23/05/2011 19:47

true it is quite pink hmmm!!

11weeks is very early. We looked around then as we were excited and had just found out we were expecting twins. We were going to buy ours in a fortnight (I'll be 25weeks) but there is a new double not out until July so I think we may be waiting a bit longer. For me, the earliest I would buy one is 24weeks but I know too many people who've sadly had late miscarriages, but I also wouldn't collect it from the shop until baby/ies born (I'm a bit superstitious).

Also, the one I chose at 11w is now my second choice due to the new one coming out. I only plan to buy one buggy so really want to get it right.

harecare · 23/05/2011 19:50

Stop looking and wait for a bit. Very early.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/05/2011 20:18

Just looked at it, it is very girly purple, not a neutral sort of purple.

As far as superstition goes though, remember loads of us are on our second or more pregnancy. I have a dining room full of pushchairs and a loft full of carseats/baths/sterilisers/clothes etc. All second timers+ would be buggered.

buttonmoon78 · 23/05/2011 21:18

I can understand why you like it - the chassis is a bit funky. But a) it's v girly and b) it's way too early.

Kiddicare are great. There will be other deals on nearer the time.

Congratulations!

sungirltan · 23/05/2011 21:23

GwendolineMaryLacey · 23/05/2011 21:24

lolajane2009 · 23/05/2011 21:39
