Am almost 38 weeks and think i've been having braxtion hicks for a few days. I say 'think' as i'm not entirely sure if thats what they are, I read that your bump goes tight, well the top of mine is always tight/hard as the babies bum sticks up there and the bottom is kind of flabby after 2 previous DC so I can't really tell. They are a bit painful though and I am definately aware of them, they make me feel uncomfortable and are quite unpleasant.

So, assuming these are infact Braxton Hicks, do/did yours make you feel like you really need/ed a poo? I suddenly feel like I really need to go to the toilet when I get them and sit there waiting but most of the time nothing happens and the urge goes when the 'braxton hick' does, only for me to feel the same half an hour later. Other times though, I do have a poo (not the nicest of poos either iykwim) and so don't want to stop going to the bathroom every time just incase!

I don't think i've ever had Braxton Hicks with my other DC, I definately don't remember if I did, I was induced 2 weeks over with them both.

Sorry about the TMI

I felt all my labours in my back in particular dcs 2 & 3. And yes, they did make me feel like I needed a poo. And are doing so in this pg too!

From all the info you've given I'd say there's a good chance you won't need inducing with this one.

Come back and tell me if I'm right or not!

Shock But i'm nowhere near ready, as I was expecting to go 2 weeks over so have done nothing, not even packed a bag! I don't even think I have everything I need to go into the bag.... maybe I ought to go shopping tomorrow Grin

My bowels completelt emptying was one of my first signs of labour. Get that bag packed!

I agree - I went to the loo a lot to empty before labour with DD1. I agree with teh ladies who have already commented - get your stuff ready, oh I'm excited for you now :)
