I have just started getting proper kicks and am very excited, I have found that I am stroking, massaging my tummy a lot more especially to try and have baby move when DH is home so he can see/feel it but then I read that baby sleeps for about 14 hours. This may sound daft but am I keeping baby awake and will lack of sleep harm him? I dont sit there prodding for hours and a sure the novilty will wear of but still.....

Don't worry, you can't harm him.
Babies do sleep a lot, but that tends to be while you are active.
The motion of your movements soothes them to sleep.
When you stop moving and relax, is the time they usually wake up anyway.
So if you sit down for a bit and give him a prod, it's probably not a problem because he would probably be awake anyway.
