Stupid food in pregnancy question...

I know it's a stupid question but.... can you eat those cream cakes you get in the chillers in supermarkets? And cheesecake? And Ben n Jerrys?

I wanted to get myself a bit of a treat the other day but everything I fancied I wasn't sure if I could eat!

I've eaten cheesecake, only avoided it in restaurants where it might contain raw egg, and also eaten ben & jerrys, don't like cream cakes so can't comment but fairly sure they're all fine. Supermarket stuff is usually pasturised so no nasty bugs.

Don't eat raw egg or unpasteurised stuff & possibly pate & that's about it!

Oh my goodness I couldn't get through this pregnancy without baked American cheesecake and cream apple turnovers!!! There to much crap nowadays over what you can and can't eat! And even then they keep changing there mind!!

Just to say, I read someone on another thread mentioned they got food poisoning of some sort from Ben & Jerry's which was sold at a festival, from a stall. I guess perhaps be a bit wary if there's a chance it's been sitting around a bit but generally I'd not worry from supermarket at all. In fact, I pretty much just wanted ice cream, fruit and fruit smoothies at the start! :)

In fact beginning to wish I hadn't read this thread. I now want cheesecake!

I'm veggie, wouldn't have cared about that but I know my puddings
