bloods show possible low antibodies?

Just had a call from a midwife asking if I can go and supply more blood as tests taken at my NT have shown that I have possible low antibodies. Unfortunately the midwife didn't know what that meant...! Can anyone help? I am 15.2 with dc2. Thanks so much....

Ruebella antibodies maybe? They do check your ruebella status early on in pregnancy.

katherine2008 · 22/05/2011 00:59

Do you think that would have shown up with DC1?

When was dc1 born? Status can change. Tbh if they're asking for more blood it sounds like they didn't get a clear result first time.
Your GP will have got the results - you could ring and ask them on MOnday what it means. Fairly hopeless of your midwife not to know tbh!

Are you a rhesus negative bloodgroup?

Yukana · 22/05/2011 10:52

I know I had a anti-D injection at 28 weeks to make sure I didn't develop antibodies but I'm not sure if it's the same thing. My blood type is B- (rhesus negative).

I agree with Northernlurker that it was pretty hopeless of your midwife to not know anything about it, but I'd definitely ask for more information to put you more at ease here.

I'm O positive but don't know any more than that. Had my first child 2.8 years ago. I thought I might pop into maternity when I go to have my bloods tomorrow and see if they know anything.

Thanks for all advice.
