Pain at bottom of bump - something to worry about?

I'm 33 weeks pregnant with DC2. For about a week now, I've had a pain in my lower abdomen, slightly to the left, right at the bottom of my bump. When I walk, it ranges from quite painful to a slight twinge. When I'm sitting completely still, I can't feel it.

To start with, I thought it could be constipation pain (also a problem, but let's focus on one issue). I looked into SPD, but I wouldn't describe it as joint pain - it feels muscular or trapped wind-y rather than in a joint.

If I'm walking and a bad Braxton Hicks kicks in, it's really bloody painful. I'm also getting some nerve pain in my bum (sciatica? pelvic girdle pain?) and some lower back pain, but nothing I can't deal with. Getting comfortable in bed is impossible - but, FGS, I'm 33 weeks pg - that's hardly abnormal, is it?! Playing with my 3 year old DS can be difficult at time - bless his heart, he's an active little fella like any other toddler.

Anyway, I have an ante-natal appointment with my GP on Monday. I'm fine to discuss this with her then, aren't I? I mean, this isn't an indicator of serious infection or anything I REALLY need to worry about is it?

Any thoughts or experiences much appreciated.

I think it's growing pains, that wonderful pregnancy catch-all. I'm just hitting 24 weeks and I get it some days, walking around and the base of my bump is knacking but I sit down for a rest and it goes away - mine is also like a muscular, gripey, trapped wind pain, almost like a muscle cramp (rather than a period cramp) or a stitch type feeling.

Thanks for that - your description seems to match mine well so you've helped put my mind at rest!!

Im 35 weeks and have been getting these sorts of pains too, i put it down to stretching or baby prodding around/lying somewhere awkward! Mine def feels muscular rather than something going on inside the bump!

I get that and it feels like cramp to me, if I stretch then it goes away.

I have had it in my other pg's too, and they have been fine :)

Thanks again, ladies. It's only with this pregnancy that I realise how easy my first one was. No aches, no pains and perfect sleep until the day I went into labour!

I sometimes feel that too (at 25 weeks). I have also found that my hips have started cracking constantly too. It doesn't really hurt, but goodness it sounds awful!
