hi
i had an appointment with the midwife today, the baby is fine, heart and mouvment but the measurment its just 26/27cm, instaid of 31/32cm, i was send for scan measurment but the appointment is for tuesday, as with my first DS everything was normal -even the measurments-, i am not worried but they worry me about this, they have to moniter the baby for the few comming weeks to check it.
anyone experience this before? what can happen? i realy dont want to worry as i can feel the mouvment and the baby is fine.

I had this later in the pg as my tummy didn't 'grow' after 30 weeks but was always on the small size in the second half.

I went for two scans, one or two weeks apart. The first time was for measurements which were in the small but normal range. The second was to check that it had grown.

For me it was a case of the baby hiding out in the back. Main concern is to check the baby is not having a growth restriction of some kind, but it is common to measure small but not have a 'small for dates' baby.

The wait is the killer though and I only had to wait overnight.

Are you talking about the measurment of your bump? It is a very inexact science and alot depends on the lie of the baby, how much water you are carrying and the skill of the MW doing the measuring. I have had 2 different measurements in 3 days this week, because the hospital MW did it when I was being monitored and the community MW did it at my appointment two days later. I was measuring 2 weeks under dates by the hospital and bang on dates by community.

They will monitor you now because it has been flagged up and they just need to be sure, chances are everything will be fine :)

thank you PenguinArmy, hope everything will be fine.
Bogeyface the doctor at the GP mention it 3 weeks ago but she said its not a big problem, but the MW who did the measurment today she said that its a small, than the doctor at the hospital that she refer me to today is well said the same thing, I am just waiting of the scan, they saying even if i am small my first baby was a big 3.5kg, thats why they are wondring why this one is small. thank you a lot.
