Aching hips and sleeping

I am currently 20 weeks pg, and struggling to get a decent nights sleep, as lying on my side makes my hips really ache.

I'm sure that I didn't suffer with this until much later on with DD - but could be wrong, as it was 6 yrs ago!

I have tried various pillows, and DH has just bought me a Dreangenii pillow - which is great, and I find I can get comfortable, but still wake up several times a night, with really achy hips.

I'm not very optimistic that there are any tips out there for this, as I' sure pillows are the only option! Just hoping that someone may have some ideas to help ease this - if not, at least I've only got another 20 weeks....Wink

I got a tempur type mattress due to chronic hip and back pain. I found that sinking into the mattress and lying on my back was most comfortable.

I haven't tried it, but someone suggested to me that rather than changing your whole mattress, getting a memory foam mattress topper might help?

Topper might help but with chronic pain the most expensive memory foam with coiled springs underneath you can afford are more likely to be affective.
Also it's lovely that when DH turns over in bed as if he is doing some sort of gymnastic vault that I no longer nearly catapult out of bed!

ooh, thank you - we are going to be buying a new bed soon, so we'll need a new mattress too. Just need to get a wiggle on and get one.....DH has moved out of our bed for a while now, as I'm such a nightmare to sleep with since being pg!
