hello, this is my first pregnancy ...
what you are about to hear is probably off putting and tmi ( so hope your not eating) ....
im 37 weeks and 2 days, all day today i have need the erge to do a number two Blush however before i feel like i need to go i get theese really bad on and off cramps in my lower belly!, and when i sit on the toilet its the worst most uncomfortable thing!
however much i feel like i need to poop, i just cant! and then when i give up, iv still got the cramp.
its soo stressful and annoying, and painful i feel like crying!
iv read on another website that it could be early signs of labour :S ?
iv had a bath, and it has relaxed me a little, however im now waiting until it happens again -_- ....

im probably the only one thats had this, but if you have had it, what is it? do i need to be concerened? please help! :(

Sounds like it could be labour to me, although I am no expert. Have you called the midwife? They should be able to tell from your description if it is or not, and if you need to see someone. Good luck!

Sounds like it could be early labout to me too..... have tried timing the "cramps"??

Also phone your mw, they might want to check you over to confirm yes or no.

I had this with DS. It wasn't a sign of labour with him as he was over 2 weeks late and I had it from about 37 weeks too.
I ate prunes in the end. The only thing that would relieve it. It was very painful though so I know how you feel.
Hope you feel better soon.

No expert either, but I would speak / see the midwife. Does sound familiar though Grin

Good luck Smile

Could be early labour and having had the experience of having a glycerine suppository shoved up my arse by the midwife and then trying not to push while it worked, I would strongly advise you to try every constipation cure you can lay your hands on, as having anything in your bowels can get in baby's way on the way out, so they like you to be well evacuated. Even if you're not in labour yet, it's worth getting sorted so the postbirth first poo isn't too sore either!

I think you can get glycerine suppositories over the counter, or try linseeds on cereal, prune juice, dried apricots, lentil and spinach curry or a good dose of lactulose, which is safe to take while pregnant.

You have my sympathy as I remember how uncomfortable it if and best of luck!
