Ouch! Is This SPD?

And if it might be, do I need to do anything about it?

I have been getting pain/discomfort in my hips for quite a few weeks now, I am 33+1 today. It's kept me awake a bit, but mostly been uncomfortable if I have done lots of walking or something. However, today it's got really bad and my pubic bone area feels quite painful even when I am just sitting. It's worse when I walk. It's hard to describe the pain, it's sort of like a burning/grinding/badly bruised sort of feeling.

Does this have any implications for the birth? Do I need to mention it to anyone or just get on with it?

Could well be.

does it hurt alot when you try and turn over in bed? That is a particular give away with SPD. See your MW or GP asap and ask for a referal for physio as they can take a while to come through although in my area they treat SPD as an urgent referal as it is time sensitive. They will give you exercises and advise you on what to do in birth.

Also, go to PPP website and they will give you lots of really good advice.

Yes sounds like it to me. I used to get it from over exhaustion, so take it easy now you're 33 wks.

You can see a physiotherapist. Although when I did she was next to useless and told me how some women cannot even walk and I should count myself lucky etc

Had no implications for my births I don't think. Just made pregnancy far less enjoyable in later stages. Fun fun fun!
Hope it eases soon. Well, it 'll be gone in a couple of months at least!
