Big Babies?

I am expecting baby no 2 - likely to be a girl. I am 25 weeks and feel enormous. Feel even bigger than I did with DD1 who was over 10lbs when born. I was overweight when I conceived and this time around I've tried much harder with my diet (ie not eating half a tub of ice cream at one sitting!!) but every day my bump just seems to expand even more. People keep asking me when I'm due and look rather dumbstruck when I tell them I have another 3 months to go!

Anyone else feel the same - at all??

My first was 9lb3 and when I was pg with my second I was huge, at 6 months someone asked how much longer and they nearly fell over when I said another 3 months. I was dreading the birth as I thought he would be bigger, but he wasn't he was 8lb6, so just goes to show, you never know.
Good luck Smile

yep! Am 28weeks and have to answer '3 months to go' and they look horrified. DC1 was 8lb13 and DC2 was 8lb6 so it doesn't follow that this will be massive... I hope

I used to get that too so in the end to strangers when they ask how long left, I would say Oooo any day now even though I was properly 4 months gone lol
Still managed a "ohhhh that's a big baby"

My babies actually got smaller with each one but I looked huge because I had enormous amounts of water!!!

so glad to know I'm not alone!

My first was enormous at 10lb10, and people stared at me constantly because I was massive. I was very proud of my enormous bump Smile. He loves listening to the stories of how nurses and doctors came to see 'the big 3 month old newborn'.

Number 2 was heading that way too, but I had an ELCS 10 days early with her. She was 8lb15.

My son was nine and a half pounds. Yet when I was "measured" the midwife predicted a 6.5lb baby. I did have a very small bump, had very little water and only gained 21lb, 16 of which I lost at the birth.

I also had a smallish bump with DS1 and the midwife insisted he would be 7lb max, even after I had a growth scan predicting a 9lb'er at term. I had him at term exactly weighing 9lb exactly.

I was huge with DS2 as I had lots of fluid, but he was 10lb born at 38 weeks.

This time my bump isn't that big IMO, and my fundal height is either spot on or on the small side, depending on where baby is. But I have GD and scans predict she's about 5lb 10 now at 33 weeks and should be around 9lb at term.

One of my sons was 9lb13 and three quarters, I was very active during the pregnancy - moving houses always on the go with other children etc so don't know why he was so big. With my last pregnancy, I hardly ate and actually lost bodily weight which worried me but not the HV as they kept saying the baby was big and growing. Grow he did - 10lbs 10oz - he was a C section as after a few attempts to start me off they decided to just get him out as I began bleeding ( i was glad tbh after finding out his weight !). Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy and your baby and try not to stress you will be fine.

I'm only 20 weeks and people are always gobsmacked when I tell them that! Yet, my DD was only 6lb7oz, and we generally have babies under 7lbs in our family (my sister and mum).
No health professionals have yet told me I'm big, so I'm not too worried yet, and am hoping that it's mainly water.
Even had a mum at school this morning point out another mum who only has 4 weeks to go, and there isn't much difference in our bump sizes...it's her 3rd too!!!!!!!
Love my bump though and am very proud of it - I don't think it's that big either......
