just curious as i'm 20wks with my 3rd and i'm sure we're having another girl. Guessing statistically the chances are high that we're having another girl.....any thoughts?!

I've got two girls.

If you're interested in this kind of thing I think statistically you always have a 49% chance of having a girl and a 51% chance of having a boy.

The only time when the chances are significantly different are, I think , that if you already have two girls you are statistically more likely to have a girl than a boy.

I'm not sure of the stats, I just remember googling it once to disprove that bollocks stat about how if you have two of one gender you're 80% more likely to have that gender again. Think it was on ingender..

ah ha that's kind of what i thought thanks jordan. We are going into this convinced we are having a girl regardless. would be just as lovely to have a boy but know it's unlikely........

I have 3 girls & thank god that DD3 wasn't a boy, he would have drowned in our girly pink glittery house Smile

I've got 3 girls.

Even before I had an amnio at 16 weeks I just knew number 3 was a girl Smile

sunface · 18/05/2011 21:08

Now I was convinced and petrified that baby 3 was a boy. Baby 3 was an unplanned baby bless her, unplanned because my DH was having chemotherapy when we conceived her & we had been told DH would be infertile due to treatment.

I went into early labour at 31 weeks & during a bedside scan the sonographer said "there she is, she looks fine" I told her I had pressumed the baby was a boy & she confirmed a baby girl.

Born full term via section btw.

sunface · 18/05/2011 21:30

general experience seems to be 3 girls in a row is the most likely?! Bohica, sorry to hear about your hubbie, hope all is well now. Going to say at scan that we don't want to know but not to avoid that area as there's no way we'd be able to tell regardless!

Everything is great again now & nearly at the 5 year mark.

Hope everything goes well for you & enjoy your 3 children, it's definatly a big change going from 2 to 3 Smile

sunface · 18/05/2011 21:35

Glad to hear all well Bohica and thanks for the good luck, we'll no doubt need it!

I've just had dd3 (13 weeks ago), weren't told at any of the scans for any of the girls re gender. Its lovely having three of a kind, I think going from 2 to 3 is much easier than going from 1 to 2, but don't tell anyone Grin

OrganisedMayhem · 19/05/2011 12:47

I have 2 DD and I am due in July wth number 3. The scans suggest it is another girl.

I don't mind if it is pink or blue. Practically my house is a pink plastic palace and another girl would slot in (I hope....) and besides I have all the pink stuff!!!!

It would be nice to have a boy, especially as I know deep down DH would love a son. However I worry about having a boy in such a girly household.

Oh well I will find out soon!!!!

sunface · 19/05/2011 13:27

thanks organised. had my scan today and said we'd rather not know. She didn't really go into that area. but i didn't see any extra wiggly bits floating around anywhere, so i think we're having another girl too. Like yourself though, think DH would deep down love to have a son but has said himself as long as baby is healthy then it's irrelevant, bless him!
