Reduced fetal movement at 32 wks - off to hospital now for monitoring

I think in my previous pregnancies I wouldn't have thought too much about this. But have been reading (on MN) about the 'Count the Kicks' campaign and it's made me very conscious of my baby's movements. Have been aware that last night there didn't seem to be any, and today, they're less than usual. So rang midwife and now have an appointment at 12 to go into the hospital for monitoring.

Of course, the baby seems to be moving a bit more all of a sudden now. But I'm going in anyway, think I need the reassurance. Fingers crossed!

Let us know how you get on. I'm sure nothing will be wrong, but best to get checked!

Good luck! The same thing happened to me - as soon as they put the monitors on he started kicking like crazy! Was very reassuring though.

Just leaving Hosp now - all well ! Little blighted went crazy during trace. MW was lovely tho and said I was right to come in. Def feel better not worrying about it. Thanks 4 your replies x

They're all out to get you, these babies, and are trying to make you look like a wally from day 1!

Glad all is well.

Yes, and when the MW put the straps on, it vigorously waved all its arms and legs for as long as possible to prevent the trace working!

I did mean 'little blighter' rather than 'little blighted' though, i'm not that harsh!

Glad all's well :)

Glad to hear all ok, as someone said on another thread, MW would rather have you come in lots of times and have everything be ok... Good to go in and check also and be reassured by MW attitude and response, so you are more confident about going in if you ever have concerns again. Good to change the "stiff upper lip" attitude!

Northernlurker · 18/05/2011 18:23

Good to hear everything is ok. Smile
